1885 had a delicious country fried steak, the best my husband has had in the area. My son's chicken strips were also very good. My grilled chicken sandwich was okay. It does not come with any sauce, and the chicken was thick enough it could have used some more of seasoning. The restaurant was quaint inside and bright and clean. It was a bit loud. The staff were friendly.
First of all our waitress was EXCELLENT, so I wanted to leave a 5 star review just for her. The pre dinner salads and bread were amazing too. But for everything else we felt we way overpaid for what we got. Drinks and food were quite expensive and flavor and portions were just mediocre. My meal wasn't cooked right and had to be sent back, something I try at all costs to avoid, but it was dangerously raw. Also (to the owner), get some better lighting! Atmosphere is as important...
Fantastic meal! Chicken fried steak was the best I’ve ever had. Delicious warm bread with cinnamon butter. My partner had the Ribeye which was thinner than preferred but perfectly cooked. Great service and the young man who brought our food was attentive and kind. He was always clearing plates and bringing the next course like perfect clockwork and always with a friendly smile.
