“Best Mexican restaurant in Cookeville, hands down. The fajita quesadillas are incredible, with really tender slow roasted and marinated chicken in the chicken version, and delicious and juicy marinated shrimp in the shrimp version. The carnitas tacos are also AMAZING. Having tried Mexican cuisine everywhere from Houston, Texas to Cancun and Cozumel, I can confidently say this place is a shining example of authentic Mexican food.“

“My family and I dinner here on Friday, Aug 29. The service was amazing. I had mole, my son had civeche, my daughter in law had a torata, I ordered an order of supreme nachos for daughter to take home to her, and my granddaughter had beans and rice. We also shared the fried cheesecake. The food was really good. Prices are the same as any other restaurant. We will definitely eat there again. I was happy they serve mole because it is my favorite dish and most places do not serve it.“

“Got here a little before they opened and still let us in to order. Very nice, kind, server, very attentive. What got me the most was the food. VERY good and Plates were well served. The kids plates could be enough for and adult . My 6 year old usually tries to finish all his food. We still had leftovers to take home“

“I went here after I had a craving for birria tacos, and this was certainly the best choice I could have made. They were favorful in a way that no one could ever recreate. Not to mention that the cashier was so friendly and our food came out in NO time. Go here, seriously.“

“This used to be my family's go to Mexican restaurant. I just ate here , which it's been a while. The food was bland and they didn't put any meat in the lunch burrito 😔. It sure is different than it used to be. Someone would ask if everything is good but don't expect it now.“

“El Tapatio is great. We were greeted as we walked in, the staff was great, fast service. We had a steak quesadilla which the meat and sauce was very good except my husband does not like onions or peppers and the menu did not say those would be in it. I had the chicken fajita and it was very good. I really liked the salsa that was served with the chips. The server promptly took our order as soon as we were ready.“
