“This is a 4.5 place! I had the chitlins, greens, candied yams and it came with a piece of hot water corn bread. My bill was 25.00. It was all soooo good! I literally didn't make it home and just ate in my truck while listening to music. Hattie B. Is so nice and personable. She favors my grandma who just passed last year and meeting her made my heart smile. This is a must go for great soul food. I took it down a half star due to them only excepting cash and I didn't see any seating. It's a lil bit on the pricier side, but it was worth it.

Parking: It's on a one way street and this place has a lot of people that go after church. I parked on the next block literally across the street from the restaurants corner“

“It's just a simple local joint with homemade soul food. It's delicious and pretty reasonably priced for the portion sizes. Like, I got a TON of food for 20 bucks. I got the smothered porkchop with rice, yams, and mac and cheese. That plate came with a cornbread muffin. I also added a side of broccoli and cheese. Generally, everything was delicious, and I'd definitely eat here again. There were some things I might do differently if I were cooking the food, but that's the beauty of eating other people's cooking. It doesn't have to be made how I would make it. I get to experience someone else's interpretation of how they cook the same foods. For example, I use more brown sugar in my yams, and thats my preference, but theirs were still very good. Overall, it was a great experience.“

Thats why we drove to Memphis from Newark, to pay our respects at Graceland. Ok their fried chicken was Bigbootiebanggan'. Look at the pic of Bernice and her new nail job diggin' in! she ate 2 birds, we gonna have a quake tonight when this crew rolls into that sparkling clean Super 8 Motel! Jasmine and Amina, the trustworthy baby girl shared a big bowl of Collard Greens. I even got a haircut next door at Gandys barber shop. Next stop Graceland“

“Our food was good (pork chip, catfish, mac and cheese, green beans, cornbread). The building is very cute with the eclectic seating. The owner is sweet and gave her an infamous hug after ordering. I was worried about parking but they have signs with dedicated parking for their patrons.“

“I had the pleasure of dining at Willie Mae's in Memphis Tn, On August 31 2022, I was thoroughly impressed with the food . The chittlins reminded me of my mommas in Rosedale Mississippi. The cornbread was firm yet moist, the Collard greens were on the money ,just enough sweetness and pepper to create an awesome flavorprofile. The Macaroni and cheese was baked to perfection, just cheesy goodness. I don't do shout outs, but if I did Willie Mae's gets my vote!“

“Went here for lunch for the first and it was decent. I’ve passed it multiple times because I live in the area but never had a chance to stop. I got the chicken lunch plate with 2 side and cornbread. The chicken was seasoned well but wayyy to big for my liking. I do not like huge hormone injected wings. And personally the side I got the candied yams and corn didn’t have enough flavor. But it was eatable. I was expecting a home coooked meal type of vibe but this not what my granny or even my food taste like. But again it was just okay. Good for the price. The service was really good and quick. I may be back to try other items.“

“This place is really a hidden gem. I wanted Turkey today and was pleasantly surprised to find Turkey wings. Big and Baked to perfection. I paired with it some spaghetti and pinto beans. I love a good bean and boy did you all get it right. Nothing too salty or over cooked. Tastes just as good as it did when I was introduced in over a decade. One plate big enough to feed two. No extra fluff just good ole soul food!“
