“Lunch today was excellently prepared and served. The service is top-notch; you're greeted when you enter; there are smiles and pleasantries from the staff; and outstanding assistance. I ordered the Hamburger Steak with Gravy sitting a bed of rice, sweet potatoes, cabbage and cornbread. Everything was well seasoned and generously served. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, my lunch money will be spent there!!!“
“The food, service, and experience of eating at this restaurant made me eat there twice. The restaurant and employees went above my expectations to make me feel special. This restaurant is a great place to visit and dine in and I recommend it upon your visit to Memphis. I can’t wait to return to Memphis to try a new dish from the menu. The catfish, mac and cheese, hush puppies, and greens almost took me out, lol very delicious and the dessert was simply to die for.“
“Usually I get take out from the c/y location but decided to see if parking is any better here (very slightly).Food here is just as great as the midtown one.They have great food, one of the only places in town that doesn't make their corn bread overly sweet. They also understand how to make a simple straight forward burger that isn't a heckin meatball or covered in increasingly pretentious condiments and toppings. If it s made right, burgers don't need all that none sense and sould fish, despite being a fish place, has one of the best simple classic burger and fries plate for a reasonable price.This same simple but well prepared, very fresh ingredients and nice serving sizes go into the salads. They offer one of the nicer Ceasar salads in the city. This is once again a simple dish but they don't mess it up by disrupting the simplicity. Instead they elevate the most basic of salads with very fresh romaine, in the perfect size pieces for a salad, and lots of cheese and croutons which are also very nice croutons. The Ceasar is dressing is not remarkable. It is EXACTLY what I expect when I order Ceasar dressing. Soul fish isn't trying to re invent the wheel and that a a good thing because as high quality as their food is they aren't great at parking lots.Parking: There's plenty of parking in the back but the spaces are tight and tiny and it is a very long walk between the lot and building. One way in, another way out, and it s narrow. It s like the midtown one so maybe they just love bad parking and pedestrian design.“
“Jackie Mae's is a great place to eat. The southern cooking is awesome. It reminded me of my grandmother's and mother's cooking. The chicken and dressing was delicious. Everyone was very friendly. Mrs. Jackie Mae herself came around and checked on everyone. If you get a chance, go to Jackie Mae's Southern Cooking.“
“Great food but very long wait. They appeared to be cooking dishes and bringing them out one at a time. There were only 2 other tables seated when we arrived and waited over an hour for the food. BUT when we got the good, it was SOOOOO GOOD. We got the brisket philly - Amazing. Kids got fried shrimp, cooked and seasoned very well.“

Cooked nicely — yams were soft and sweet, green beans were soft without being mushy, mac and cheese creamy and perfection, in other words it was everything expected!Oh — and cornbread worthy of a southern cook!Looks like they have different choices daily. “The Bartender, Katie is super solid. Very attentive and a great personality. Traveling for work and always try to find a good "dive" spot. Small draft beer selection, but that's OK. Mostly local brews on top. Food is decent. Had the Jalapeno Cream Cheese Burger (added bacon and onion), and the garlic-parm wings.“
“Every time we go to Memphis, we stop here. Their food and service are excellent. One of us always gets the catfish and I choose either fried shrimp or the cuban. You wouldn't expect that the cuban would be a good choice at a restaurant that highlights seafood,but you'd be wrong. It consistently is the best one I've had regardless of the restaurant. Service is great. Refills come unsolicited,which is refreshing.“
“i really liked this restaurant!! i got the fish and shrimp dinner with mac and cheese and it was not to disappoint!! the mac and cheese was very very good and same with my fish. my only complaint was the cornbread. it was very hard and dry. for dessert my family shared a banana cake which was one of the best desserts i’ve had in a while. it tasted just like banana bread!! the workers were very kind and i recommend eating here!!“

“Square Meal Cafe catered an event for my mom. The food was beyond delicious!! The lamp chops where cooked perfectly. The seafood salad was beyond good, but that key lime pie showed out. I could have ate that all night. Definitely would recommend them for any event.“
