“I placed an online order for take out. Right when it was ready to be picked up we had an emergency situation arise, they said they understood and would keep our pizza warm for us. An hour or so later they called me and asked if they could just deliver it free of charge. They brought it to us even though we live at the edge of their delivery area. Everyone I dealt with was extremely kind and professional. Wether you like the food or not those people deserve the business just for being good humans and caring about others.“

“I met friends for lunch. 1st time there because I don't really care for this type of food. I had some stir fry with chicken and it was ok. Not exactly my favorite kinda food. That being said, an order of vegetable tempura was shared by the table and it was GREAT 👍. I actually liked it very much!! Even went back the next day for takeout so my dear husband could try it. He really liked it as well. Priced good, and the servings are humongous!! Really huge. Nice and clean on the inside, and service was good with a reasonable wait time. “Stopped here on a whim after we discovered the original place we were going to eat at was closed. I’m so glad we stopped here. The food was absolutely amazing. Not one complaint about our food. Even our daughter was able to get a waffle here (gluten, dairy and egg allergens). Received 5 star service from Majaa.“

“I go there a lot, but on April 17,2022, I really wanted some Chocolate Fudge ice cream and when she handed it to me I noticed it looked like regular chocolate ice cream. I made a remark that it wasn’t dark and the girl just ignored me. I paid $7 for my sister and I and went ahead and ate it. They obviously put regular chocolate when it was supposed to be Chocolate Fudge. I am very disappointed. And the girl in the back was looking at her phone and sucking on two of her fingers. I should have left immediately. I would like some kind of compensation or I will go to a different place, thank you for listening“

“We drive further to come to this location because it is much better than the Cordova location. The staff are very friendly, the service is fast, and they have a great selection of bagels, fresh bread, etc. We like to eat breakfast here and they make amazing avocado toast, using plenty of avocado. They even have a selection of tea bags to use with their hot water. We're sip club members, and they have a wide selection of drinks and multiple milk choices for your coffee and tea. The atmosphere is nice. They have a fireplace that is perfect on cold days. And the restaurant is very clean. I highly recommend choosing this location!“

We had the chicken lettuce wrap, fried green beans, pork fried dumplings, dynamite roll, northern style ribs and egg drop soup. There was plenty of food for three of us. Matthew, our waiter was awesome and provided excellent service. We definitely will visit this location again when we’re in Memphis.“

“Review: Char Restaurant – Highland Street, Memphis | Rating: 4.5/5.0

Today, I’m sharing my experience at Char Restaurant, located on Highland Street in Memphis. This is a fine dining restaurant, and I chose it to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We made a reservation for two, and everything from the moment we arrived was smooth and welcoming.

We were seated promptly, and the atmosphere was elegant and relaxing, just as you’d expect from a fine dining establishment. The staff were courteous and professional. I don’t recall the name of our server, but he took excellent care of us throughout the evening.

🍽️ What We Ordered:
Fried Chicken (Main Course) – Served with vegetables and gravy, this dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was spot on.
Shrimp and Grits with French Fries – My friend ordered this and mentioned it was the best she’s ever had. The shrimp were well-cooked, and the grits were creamy and flavorful.
Blueberry Banana Pudding – This dessert was a delightful surprise. I had asked the server to bring it out as a birthday surprise, and he did so perfectly — bringing it out when she wasn’t looking, which made the moment even more special.
💬 Final Thoughts:
We had a wonderful time celebrating, and my friend truly enjoyed her special day. I really appreciate the hospitality and attention to detail shown by the Char team. The food, service, and ambiance all came together to create a memorable experience.

We’re definitely planning to return soon to explore more of the menu.

“We love to meet friends at Tannoor Grill. We had a reservation for 14 last night! The meat is served on giant skewers and cut at the table. Those who prefer rare can get it, and those that like their meat charred and well done can get that too. Everybody’s happy. The unlimited salad bar and hot vegetable selections are substantial, and the seared lamb chops are second to none. Because the restaurant does not serve alcohol, we can bring our own wine for no extra fee (bring your own glass and corkscrew as you will be serving yourself). When you leave you are happy and satisfied. It’s the perfect meal to celebrate a special occasion or share with friends.“

“FAMILY THROUGH AND THROUGH!

We grabbed dinner here the other night and it was magnificent! THE Mike Garibaldi himself greeted us at the door and introduced us into the restaurant making some recommendations. While we had never been to this location, we’ve been going to Garibaldi’s for many decades.

We started with the pizza bread and you have to know that the bread was probably the softest I’ve ever eaten. I had the spaghetti dinner with meat sauce and Italian spinach on the side. The food was delicious! Hot and flavorful. We also got a cheese pizza that was good as well.

It was great being at a local restaurant owned and managed by one of the longstanding families in the city.“

“I had the Focaccia caprese sandwich, the strawberry Danish, the oatmeal pie and cinnamon roll. I haven't had focaccia gluten free, so while delicious, it was a bit dense from what I remember how focaccia tasted before my wheat allergy.

The oatmeal pie was tasty, but not like an oatmeal cream pie, but as a very nicely made oatmeal based cookie with marshmallow spread between two cookies. Oatmeal cream pie were my favorite and I have had similar GF copy cats that tasted closer to the the little Debbie Cake version, but this one was very good by it's own right.

The strawberry Danishes were my favorite. I love how close to gluten based Danishes these tasted. Slightly dense and yeasty tasting , but still pleasant to the palate.

My concern as a possible future regular is the use of wheat starch. I'm not gluten free per say, I am a person with a wheat allergy and GF products is the closest I can that accommodates my allergy. With that said, wheat starch is a certified gluten free item and doesn't impact most celiac and genuinely gluten sensitive patrons. However, if you have a wheat allergy, I would say eat with caution - especially the breads that rely on certain starches to rise and hold form.

I intend to taste all the available items to confirm which items are safe for me to consume, but all-in-all, this is a 4.5 with 5 start potential.“

“Every time I've been here, it's been busy. Not really enough parking for the size of the restaurant. Service has always been great. Food is good, but a little.expensive for what you get. There is a great variety of pizzas and topping, along with salads and pastas. It does seem a little loud in there, perhaps too much echo. Still, I would recommend this place for the quality and variety of foods along with the friendly staff.“
