“I was in Bristol for a week for training. Normally, I try to vary my food experiences as much as possible while out of town. I tried Happy Star on Monday and liked it so much I had to go back on Thursday to get more.

Since moving to the south from out west, I have had a hard time finding good Chinese food. This is one I definitely like. I really wish they would open a location in the Chattanooga area.

I can usually tell if a Chinese restaurant is going to be good by the egg rolls and Hot & Sour soup. Happy Star does both REALLY well. Also, I love General Tso chicken, when done well. It’s always listed as “spicy” but rarely is. Theirs isn’t overly spicy, but has a really nice kick to it.

There is a small dining area if you want to eat in.

“I deducted a star because their egg rolls have taken a giant hit. Said egg rolls have gone from possibly homemade to grocery store bought frozen mush. Otherwise, they have great traditional Chinese take out. Also they are the last bastion of dark meat for teriyaki chicken on a stick which is disappearing from the tricities. It is amazing. Overall I highly recommend this overlooked delicious Chinese restaurant.“

“If you ever need to cater an event,the Bristol Panda Express is the place to call. They have the food ready when promised, the food is always fresh and hot, and all the items you order are there. Many restaurants could learn from my experience with Panda Express. They open at 10am, and I caterer a ton of meals each month for my job. I have never had to wait like I do from other places, and the staff here is incredibly nice and professional. I have worked with the manager Corey a few times and he is top notch.

Now let’s talk about the food, value for the price, and ease of placing the order and picking it up. The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. The value of the quality of food, portion size, and variety are top tier. The apps for a group like the chess rangoons or egg rolls are really good. And as stated earlier, the food is ready on time and the entire staff is so helpful.
