Sams Gap Scenic Overlook Reviews
It was a lovely little surprise! Maybe a little bathroom would be helpful there as well. We walked around a little and behind the one wall there was so much tissue paper and smell of urine. ? so just don't walk that way. Go up the steps and look out. That was worth it. I'd even say you could have a little wedding there if it was allowed. Beautiful background.
Beautiful Scenic Overlook for a pitstop on your way to Asheville and beyond. Located right before the North Carolina/Tennessee State line on I-26 East, it's a great spot to stop and stretch your legs. Get your two legged and four legged passengers out for a quick walk up to the overlook point. I will warn you that there are no restrooms or covered facilities here, just a scenic overlook to enjoy the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee.

The Overlook is amazing. Lots of parking, however, no bathrooms and very isolated. Stairs to get to the top and a ramp on one side to accommodate wheel chair and/or a disabled scooter/motorized chair. The Tennessee Welcome Center (WC) which is located as you come back down the mountain (go up next exit from the Scenic Overlook and do a "under the overpass u-turn") has a very nice place to stop ? ? . Indoor clean and a/c bathrooms, hundreds of brochures and booklets about the areas...read full review
