We had a great brunch here, Miss Debbie was incredibly hospitable and made our visit with two little kids go from chaos to calm with her kindness and above and beyond help. She brought fruit slices, helped us find a quiet space to help baby calm down, and was so attentive. We always feel like family when we dine at 55 South. Thank you for your amazing service!

Will stop again EVERY time we return to the state. Worth the hour drive. Shrimp in a bag sounded lame.. ohhh myyyy wow was it good! Soooo much flavor without hot spice (I don't do hot spice). Poured the extra broth on my side of grits and elevated a dish I would not typically get (while in Rome). Others at our table LOVED the oysters and their oyster/shrimp po'boy. Everything for all five of us was exceptional, hot, fresh and delish!

Upon returning the next year, two of us ordered the same shrimp bag. Two totally different meals. Not consistent at all. Very disappointed in all the meals this time.

The food was Absolutely amazing! Our waiter was kind and considerate but definitely overworked. He was drowning with other tables so didn’t have the capacity to give us attention like he wanted to. He did great overall. Will definitely be back!

This was our first trip to Franklin,TN and this place was suggested. We were not disappointed. The meals were good with generous portions. Not too much, but not too little. I got the Dirty Bird just because it sounded interesting. It was, but in a good way. The chicken was a pulled chicken, which in my thoughts made it a much easier to handle sandwich rather than having a chicken breast slipping out of the bun. It had a nice little zip in the seasoning and all the ingredients played well off each other.
Waitstaff was knowledgeable and very pleasant. She always kept our glasses ful and table cleared of all unnecessary plates or items.
5 of us were in our party and we were able to leave with a bill under $100. Of course we are non drinkers, and 3 people preferred water with their meal vs a soda, or sweet tea which is what I had.
Would I return for a second or third dinner or lunch there? Absolutely! The food, the wait staff, and the prices all give it a 5 ⭐ rating from me. Stop in and give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Everything there was delish. The fried green tomatoes with remoulade was tangy, the oysters were on-point. The nachos were huge and heaped!

We were visiting Franklin for the weekend and stopped by for brunch before heading home on a Sunday. We were seated immediately and our server greeted us as we sat down to take our drink order. I had the 2 4 1 mimosas and my partner had the bloody Mary bar. We started with char grilled oysters that were cooked perfectly and loaded with cheese and garlic. For my meal I had the breakfast burrito without sausage and my partner had the chicken biscuit with gravy. The portions were large and both were delicious. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming and our server was friendly and attentive. I didn't get photos this time because I was exhausted from the concert the night before and needed food! You'll have to go see for yourself how great it is!

Really enjoy 55 South! It’s one of our go to’s when hanging in Franklin, especially when we want to take visitors somewhere local in the area. It’s just good high quality food. I really enjoyed their Shrimp and Grits. My wife and daughters have gotten the nachos a couple times and really like them. I’ve gotten their fish tacos and those were legit - had some big pieces of fish! People I’ve gone with often get the burger and have said it’s good. I look forward to going back there and exploring more of the menu!

At 55 South, the food was really good! I had the brisket tacos and my husband had a burger—both were delicious. We didn’t have to wait long for our drinks or food, which was great. However, once our entrees arrived, our waiter seemed to disappear. There was no follow-up to check on how the meal was or to offer drink refills, and we had to flag down another server just to get his attention. Other than that, the food itself was excellent and made the visit worthwhile.
