The food is truly exceptional. It’s hidden in a building. Do yourself a favor. Go find it and get anything on the menu. I got the braised short rib sandwich with jus on homemade sourdough. This could have been a sandwich in France. This place will blow up once word gets out.
Could I even put into words the wonderful experience I had at SOS Counter? It's so amazing that it's almost indescribable!

SOS Counter is a restaurant hidden in an office building on the southeast corner of Cool Springs Boulevard and Carothers Parkway. It is a top-secret sandwich shop masquerading as a bakery. The word has started to get out regarding this hidden gem. The space is beautifully clean and gleaming, with a counter, a few tables, and an attached spotless kitchen. The menu lists delicious sandwiches, sourdough breads, other classic American fare, and soft-serve ice cream. Shelves contain freshly shaved deli meats, cookie dough, gourmet butter, and Dr. Brown’s sodas. Everything is made from scratch right down to the mayonnaise, the relish, and the pastry frostings. Fries and chips are made on the spot in beef tallow.
The braised short rib sandwich with jus on homemade sourdough could have been a sandwich in France. The Italian hoagie is the best darn sandwich, with chewy Dutch bread with crunchy edges, freshest prosciutto, capicola, and salami, fresh, shredded lettuce, and house-made giardiniera. The lobster roll is served Thursday through Sunday and is absolutely delicious. The Katsu sandwich is very good, with delicious Taiwanese cabbage. The turkey, bacon, avocado and ham sandwich is spectacular. The short rib dip is absolutely fantastic. The Cuban sandwich is pretty good, with well flavored pork, nice ham, pickles and mustard. The fries are flat style. The chocolate croissant and cinnamon pastry with cream cheese frosting and hints of lemon zest are enjoyable. The 1/2 vanilla & 1/2 chocolate soft serve with chocolate balls is yummy. The staff is very welcoming and nice.
