About Kirin Express

Kirin Express offers a mix of great food and frustrating service. The drive thru service can be great, with large portions of freshly prepared items. The dumplings and sauce are great, and the egg drop soup is loved. The teriyaki chicken bowl and Mongolian beef are tender and tasty, with the chicken thigh meat being nicely prepared and flavorful. The tofu is delicious, with a crispy outside and flavorful inside, and the veggie spring rolls are pretty good; one customer received a free spring roll that seemed homemade. However, the orange chicken and sesame chicken can be tough, with the sesame looking like dark meat, and on one visit the chicken was not good at all. The veggies, especially the zucchini and mushrooms, tasted rancid and were inedible, and the salad lettuce was very wilted. The rice is fine and solid, but nothing super special. The service is often horrible, with long waits in the drive thru and inside the restaurant. One customer waited 20 minutes in the drive thru without the order being started and was promised a refund that was never reversed. Another customer stood inside for 30 minutes before ordering and waited almost an hour for food, though free drinks were given as an apology. The restaurant is shorthanded or slow, making it difficult for customers and delivery drivers alike. Despite this, one customer called it the absolute best hibachi in a long time and highly recommends it, hoping business stays good.
