“I always thought I didn’t belong. Everywhere I went, I felt like I should be somewhere else. That is, until I found Germantown Jonathan’s and the bartender, gauge. I moved to Nashville for work 6 and a half years ago, and I’ve struggled finding my place in this city. I tried to honky tonks, but I’m well into my 50s now, so I just always felt out of place in “aldeans”. I tried dating apps, and even some local Facebook groups but they were normally awkward and just didn’t work out. I started going to Jonathan’s because I like their ranch dressing. I always sat at a high top table near the bar. One day, as I was wrapping up my chicken tenders, the bartender, Gauge, called me over to the bar. We sat and chatted for hours. I felt like I was talking to my brother again, who sadly passed away when I was a teenager from a rare gastrointestinal disease. What I’m sure seemed like a nothing interaction for him, completely turned my life around. I started going back more. Gauge convinced me to try new foods I had never eaten before. New beers from breweries I’d never heard of. One day, gauge calls me over to the other side of the bar and introduces me to a woman. She had just moved here recently, so I told her I know what it’s like moving to a new city. We sat and talked for the rest of the day until they closed. Gauge kept sending encouraging glances when she wasn’t looking. I walked her back to her apartment and made sure to get her number. This was a little over a year ago. I’m writing this today because tomorrow I’m going to ask her to be my wife, and I hope Gauge will be one of my groomsmen. Germantown Jonathan’s and Gauge turned my life into nothing but pure bliss. Thank you Gauge. You’re a great person and everyone thinks so.“
“Neighbors is a staple bar in Germantown. They have really good drink specials and if you’re looking to watch any games, they are probably one of the best places to go to. Tons of TVs, they extended their outdoor patio, and when it’s packed during game day, it’s a VIBE! Highly recommend!“
“We've been coming here for years and we love this place. We live in Tennessee but we were born and raised in Chicago and this is just like a Chi town neighborhood bar. Everyone is friendly, food is awesome, and atmosphere is so fun. We've watched Cubs and Bears games here and had a blast. Probably our favorite East Nashville bar!!!“
“Beware the Metropolis parking lot across the street is a $46 flat fee (with tax), even for short term parking on a quiet midday. No one tells you that when you scan the QR code and give your credit card number.Parking: Beware the Metropolis parking lot across the street is a $46 flat fee (with tax), even for short term parking on a quiet midday. “This was our first time to the Topgolf in Nashville and couldn't be more pleased. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend golfing here. The staff was great. They were all very pleasant, courteous and professional. It was pouring rain, but we still had a blast. Thanks to our server Ryan, he was great.“
“Alright. So I've had Joelton and now Pleasant View. Here's what I got.Pizza - lots of toppings. Good stuff. Not homemade dough, but really goodWings - phew! Wings have gotten expensive. They usually give you big pieces, though. Have some good flavors, too. Try the bourbon! Now, the service can be rough. Big time hit and miss. You'll also notice people will walk in the door, sit down, and get pizzas way before you do. Order ahead for sit down, I guess?? I'm not a fan. Feels bad as a customer who's come in, ordered, and then waited to then see a whole family come in and basically step over you. This has happened at least twice for me.Edit, the last time I went, the ranch serving was better.Get a pizza to go, drink a beer, and have some fried pepperoni while you wait. They're good, too. Summertime on the PV patio should be nice as well.“
