Ordered a pulled pork sandwich, collard greens and cucumber salad as sides. The only thing I ate was the collard greens and half of the salad. I took one bite from the barbecue and spit it out. That was the worse barbecue sandwich I have ever ate in my life. I was wondering why a restaurant like this was dead on a Fri night. The placed the bun beside of the greasy barbecue soaking the bun with grease. There was nothing good about it trust me. The collard greens were a solid 8....read full review
Don't get too attached to Southern Craft, they were in Norton, VA for only 1 year, the place was successful and everybody in the area liked it. They got greedy and closed to try another town.
We had such a fantastic experience at Southern Craft! The service was amazing—friendly, attentive, and quick. Everything came out fast and fresh, and every bite was delicious. We tried the fried green tomatoes, pulled pork nachos, smoked turkey, and okra, and all of it was excellent. They also have great options on the kids’ menu, which made it perfect for the whole family.

Southern Craft BBQ Kingsport offers great food and a fun, younger ambiance with perfect decor and a cool craft beer vibe. The menu features well crafted barbecue, including some of the best Tennessee barbecue beef, chicken, and sausage. Specific highlights include the smoked whole chicken, excellent brisket, and the tasty BBQ sandwich. The Honey Bee brisket and bacon sandwich has a zesty kick with blackberry jam. Appetizers like the potato wedges with pork belly and scallions or the excellent wings are seasoned and sauced very good. Meals like the affordable BBQ plate or the Tennessee Trinity provide good value. Sides receive praise, especially the refreshing cucumber tomatoes salad, great fried green tomatoes, fried okra, and an outstanding sweet potato soufflé. There are three styles of BBQ sauce to choose from. While the pulled pork is average and some sides like the coleslaw or fried pickles receive minor criticism, the experience is highly recommended. Service is great with attentive staff, making it a good, fun, and moderately priced place for lunch or dinner.
