Becoming a late night icon in Knoxville, nice to know you can get great food and service after a downtown event.

I think this place is still open due to concerts and theater goers needing a drink or appetizer before a show.
The Rueben we ordered ($18.00) was the worst we have ever had. The corned beef was like a fatty piece of elastic, no sauerkraut to mention, but the Swiss and dressing was good. Expensive grilled cheese. The sandwiches were sparse and corned beef was so gross we simply set it aside. The cheese curds were fantastic.
Gavin, our waiter, was truly friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable. Best service we’ve had there.
I wouldn’t make a special trip to this Irish restaurant IMO

There's a long bar, my wife and saw some bar seats open from the otherside of the front door. As we walked the floors were very sticky and there was a smell of a grease trap in the air. We decided to sit anyway, the unfortunate thing was we were told by the bar tender we were in the owners corner spot, no drinks, Whatever we left.

My mom and I came up from Dalton, GA for a show at the Bijou Theatre. We were walking around trying to figure out where to eat and I saw the tavern on my maps and we walked over. They had hockey on, big plus. Seat yourself, BIG plus. Very open, good views, and great atmosphere. Our waitress was the sweetest and kept checking on us (not in an annoying or rushing way, either). We got the fried mushrooms and pretzels for appz and shared the fish and chips. That's the best food I've had in my life, no joke. Even the coke (soda) was better ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ˜‚ we'll be coming back often and yall should, too!

Clancy's was a very decent Irish pub. Located in downtown was a good place ro hang out with friends. It was pretty busy due to the basketball game being played. A little pricey for a college pub but worth the cost

On Saturday, we went to a show at the TN Theater and thought Clancy's would be a good place for dinner before the show as it was next door and we love a good Irish pub. Strange, but the website didn't have a menu although Google reviews mentioned food and had pics of their menus. We arrived around 4pm, there was no room at the bar, it was very loud and the only tables remaining, in front, were very bright and hot with no way of blocking the sun but at least we got a seat! As we were going to the Theater, I didn't want a handheld and risk spilling. There are only 3 entrees on the menu, cottage pie, bangers/mash, fish/chips. 2 of the 3 were of interest to me. They were out of both. So much for a nice dinner before the show. We got the fish/chips as it was our only option. It was edible. We got a margharita flatbread and added pepperoni to it just trying to get some protein into our meal. We ate it because it was on the table and we were hungry. We had something else too but I cannot even remember what it was which also tells you how average it must have been. Our waitress was excellent. Very attentive. Our drinks were very good. No issues there. The food was just very disappointing. Will I go there for a drink again? Absolutely...but no reason to eat there again.

Its a busy Irish themed bar. We may have been too worn out for the younger crowd but the hot dogs weren't bad and the cheese curds weren't exactly traditional but they were tasty.
