“I was really surprised by this place. I went there for Mexican groceries, and I found out they have a little restaurant in there. I decided to buy some food to go. I bought Carnitas, goat Barbacoa,and Menudo. All were authentic and amazing flavors. I really recommend this place.“

“Velvet Taco has great tasting flavor combinations, But… the tortillas are cold grocery store type. I ended up just eating the inside of my tacos with chips because the tortillas reminded me of playdoh… change the tortillas to a more authentic (cooked) tortilla and it’ll be sooo much better!!“

“We stopped here for lunch with a small group after the Getty's Sing!2024 conference. The food (tacos, side of frijoles y platanos) was delicious, reasonably priced, and promptly served. Recommended!
Parking: It is in a busy area, but we found parking on the street nearby.“

“Boyfriend and I came to Nashville for the first time for an airsoft tournament and only had the day, so this place checked all the boxes when it came to deciding what to eat and make the best of it. Was not a major fast food chain, their East truck happened to be close to where we were attending, offers low prices, and delicious food! After experiencing I’d note there’s also easy parking, a welcoming environment, fresh ingredients; I had carne asada fries and two chorizo tacos. 100 out of 10 would recommend.“

“My friends and I were desperate for a late night place to eat in East Nash and Velvet Taco was perfect! They have classic tacos and totally unique tacos as well (fish n chips, chicken tikka, etc). Service is quick and friendly, even at like 2am.“

“I'm a first time customer here! They exceeded my expectations! They are a skip and a hop from the Tennessee Titans Stadium. My old food truck I use to visit is out of my current area so I've been looking for a new Taco Truck spot!
The main things that I always buy are the street tacos and the steak & chicken burritos! I have to admit that this being my first time here, I can legit say that the food is better here! Their rice was extremely tasty and fresh. I don't know what sauces and marinades they are using, but that adds to the taste!
Although it was only my first time visiting, I have to say that I highly recommend.“

“New Mexican restaurant in the "12 South" area of Nashville, TN. Beautiful restaurant, with live Mexican music and singers.. I ordered something different, the Duck Mole', and I was surprised when my plate came out, it had a fairly large mound covered in what appeared to be Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, it looked like a "desert". But, as I cut into it I noticed the duck, and the dark brown sauce was not chocolate sauce, but rather the Mole'. It was definitely different, but delicious, and I ate it all Really glad I tried this dish!! And, did I mention the authentic Mexican singers were a nice (and fun) touch!! It's a very nice place!!“

The food is great, fast, and affordable!
They use crema coffee so the coffees are great too if you can resist getting an agua fresca (por que nos los dos?)
Also, big shout out to the staff. Every time I go in, the staff are absolutely so lovely!
It's dangerous that I'm within walking distance to the Inglewood location... I think I've hit a 6 day in a row streak and have no shame!

“I have been to almost every taco truck in the greater Nashville area, and this place is my favorite! Their birria is leaps and bounds above most anywhere else around. My whole family loves their food, and we get it usually a few times a month. They are also super friendly, and their prices are as good as any other. But the food, the food is stellar!“

“I've lived a 10 minute walk from this place for years, since back when it was the Pure. Back when the food came from that truck. Everything about this place is awesome. From the new ownership of the business, to the absolutely incredible food. It's unassuming, but if you ever find yourself in or driving through hermitage, this is the best spot in town.“

“We never saw the lines that other reviewers have mentioned, but to be honest we nearly walked out when we realized this was basically a cinderblock shed with a cement floor. You just don't eat in those kinds of places where we're from, lol! Turns out we need to be a lot less judegy because this was one of our favorite spots in all of Nashville (the second being Bolton's Chicken, which is also housed in a similar kind of place!) Food here is super affordable, $3 tacos and super strong cocktails. They are also pretty small portions, so you'll want more than 1 or 2 tacos. So glad we found this hidden gem in Nashville!“

“Pretty good first time experience. Chips were tasty, and most of the salsa were really good (their salsa rojo was average, while the other two were great). Tacos (tried the hot chicken, beef, shrimp, and standard chicken) very quite good, but I think cost a little more than they're worth. Staff was a highlight: very polite and interactive! Overall, not bad and would recommend trying! 8/10

“Staff was very helpful with recommendations and describing what came with what etc. I ordered the chorizo taco and the chicken taco. My husband ordered the Nashville hot chicken taco and the carne asada taco. We shared all the tacos and also ordered nachos and cheese with chorizo. It was all amazing! The one taco I will definitely order again is the Nashville hot chicken. It was delicious! The coleslaw on top of the hot chicken was amazing! Definitely will be back!“
