I made reservations for my birthday dinner almost 2 weeks prior. We arrive at 7:37pm for our 7:30 reservations on 4/23/24. We were NOT seated promptly. When we finally were seated we got our pictures taken by the hostess (she was pleasant) but then no one came back to our table for almost an hour. Quinton finally came to get our drink orders which took another 30-50 minutes to get. The whole 2 1/2 hours we were ignored we then found out Quinton wasnt even our chef!?! We didn't get a "chef" until close to 9pm and then our food was ready to eat close to 10pm. Then the table behind us got seated after us and meal prepared Shortly after they arrived and even received a "birthday song" which was also not offered to me. I had 2 ask for it. This was my 1st time at this restaurant and the egregiously horrible service nonetheless left a bad taste in my mouth. It overshadowed how good the food was unfortunately. 1 out of 10 stars would NOT recommend. Please do better I left unhappy and that was WITH the drinks yeah I need this company to FIX it immediately. My email is attached I'd love to hear from the company's management team.

When you read the Memphis Benihana reviews, you may think twice about making a reservation here. However, I can guarantee you that our party had a great time at Benihana, and the food was delicious. We were able to finish dinner in less than 4 hours, and our car was left untouched in the parking lot. We are shocked more people do not celebrate birthdays here. 10/10

I can't begin to detail how horrific the experience was here. Waited over 30 minutes for a hibachi steak dinner that came out on a dirty dish and cold! They had salad on the multi course meal and no dressing available. Had dinner in the lounge so hibachi was prepared on the grill and then brought over. I could understand a poor presentation if it's being played at the grill and eaten. Could never recommend this location for anyone to dine at.

Horrible horrible experience! Made a reservation for my daughter’s birthday and wasn’t served until 2 hours after the reservation!! The manager said he would take 15% off the tickets and ended up taking the servers gratuity out. And she had an allergic reaction immediately after we left. We will never return or recommend.

Would not recommend to anyone who wants to eat food. The soup tastes like the beef ramen flavor packet and the salads are foul. Also, sat down for about an hour with no service.

Imma start off by saying that I didn't have a problem with the food, it was great. But what I DO have a problem with is the service. I arrived for my friend's birthday dinner around 3:45 and the table was all set and ready to go. Good. I was ready to dig in. Tell me why we waited a good 3 hours before the cook came out and everyone was served. I came home at about 7:50. That really ruffled my feathers. On top of that, when we got our checks they tried to overcharge us with things we never even ordered. TERRIBLE. Trust, I will NEVER be back.

My family and I have been to Benihana a thousand times with excellent experiences but last night was of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. For one, our reservation was for 6:30pm but our cook didn't arrive until 8:10. I had my two kids a 1 and 4 year old and our servers kept forgetting to bring simple items like fruit and chicken tenders. Then our chef was taking a long time to cook the rice which was extremely dry as well as the shrimp and the chicken. After complaining the manager took $47 off the table but overall this was a bad experience

After never eating at Benihana before, and also being a lover of Japanese hibachi, I was very excited to eat here. I looked at the menu for days. I planned on treating my mom and myself to an amazing meal. I had already picked out what I would eat, planned on spending at least $100 on my filet and shrimp, and drinks, an appetizer, and planned at least a $20 tip. This was just for my meal, my mom was going to spend an equivalent amount. We were excited and thrilled to eat a great meal. When we walked into the restaurant at 5:05PM, there was no one working at the host desk. We had made a 5PM reservation on opentable, and we were 5 minutes late. We saw what looked like 8-12 employees in the restaurant, but no one said a word to us. They did stare, but no one made any attempt to attend to us, After about 7 minutes, the host came and told us to sit in the bar, it was open seating. There was only two other people in the restaurant when we sat ourselves in the bar area. After seeing various cooks and other staff talking with each other, and looking at cell phones, we had been sat at our table for over 10 minutes and no one had said a word to us, besides the hostess. So, i get up to find the awesome hostess to see if we had a server, and she seems puzzled why our assigned server hadn't spoken to us. The hostess said she would go find of server. 3 minutes after this, the female server stopped by our table and said she is finishing up a guest check, but would be with us. She then gave that couple their ticket, they paid, and she went to the register. 5 minutes after that, she was conversing with a black male employee, and laughing while looking at her phone, and my order had not been taken. it had been almost 30 minutes since we entered the restaurant, and our order still hadn't been taken. As someone who had been looking forward to this meal for so long, as as someone prepared to proudly spend good money, I was disappointed with how I had been treated thus far, but was willing to be understanding. When the female server came to our table for our order after spending 30 minutes already waiting, I was ready to place my order. I asked the server if it was happy hour and if there was a menu. I was not rude, but I directly wanted to get my food. She said there was a happy hour menu, but i needed to be patient. At that moment, I became extremely agitated. I am a customer with good money. I politely waited to be sat, I politely asked where our server was, I patiently waited almost 30 minutes for service. I aksed her point blank "did the third sentence you ever said to us as costomers was to be patient, after the waiting and not knowing what was going on. She said yes. I said a customer, I have waited and given ample amounts of patience to the situation up until that point, but being addressed in such a disrespectful way after my own time was so disrespectful wasted was beyond the pail and uncalled for. The waitress then said she wasn't even suppose to be at work today and she was doing us a favor. I don't know what is going on at this branch with the staff, but as a customer who made a reservation and planned on spending over $200, I was not looking for help. I was looking to go to a business, place a order, and eat it. That is what could have helped us, but this level of rudness was uncalled for. I decided that with such treatment and disrespect, I couldn't imagine the food being worth it's price point. I also thought that if this is the kind of service you receive at this branch, I can't waste anymore time being disrespected and spend over $200. We left our table and went down the street to The Olive Garden, where the service was amazing. Our server was nice, the service was immaculate, and I was happy we could have given over $40 in tips to that service, an amount I increased because it was so refreshing to be treated decently, and since I had this terrible experience at the Memphis branch, I was thankful for not good, but just standard service! I will advise anyone I know and online to not vis

We had a 630 reservation, didn't get fed until almost 9. My husband had to go to the bar at one point to replace his beer. The food was good BUT the wait and the service was very slow. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for the fact of the wait and service.
