THIS FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!!!!! We sampled as we waited and ordered more for the family!!! EVERYTHING TASTED INCREDIBLE!!! Beautiful location with an exceptional lounging area in the back!!! Johnnie Mae’s Soul Cafe is a hidden gem in Memphis. The food is delicious, incredible, and made with love. The Tuesday special includes fried chicken, greens, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, and cornbread. Other favorites include soul egg rolls, blackened salmon, chicken pasta, and CATFISH. The greens are flavorful and filled with smoked turkey, the Mac n cheese is cheesy, and the salmon is cooked to perfection. The chicken pasta is saucy and filled with chucks of chicken, and the CATFISH is seasoned and fried crispy. The restaurant has a beautiful location with an exceptional lounging area in the back. The staff is very friendly, polite, accommodating, helpful, and professional. The vibes inside are good and homey, with good music. The restaurant is always clean. Johnnie Mae’s is a great outing for a family reunion lunch, and it is worth the drive from Cordova. Highly recommend.
