“I was looking for somewhere close to the airport to eat and decided to try this place. The food was delicious, and they were very friendly. It was like eating with family even though we probably stuck out like a sore thumb. 😆 When we left, they were all telling us bye and to have a good trip.“

“This is a 4.5 place! I had the chitlins, greens, candied yams and it came with a piece of hot water corn bread. My bill was 25.00. It was all soooo good! I literally didn't make it home and just ate in my truck while listening to music. Hattie B. Is so nice and personable. She favors my grandma who just passed last year and meeting her made my heart smile. This is a must go for great soul food. I took it down a half star due to them only excepting cash and I didn't see any seating. It's a lil bit on the pricier side, but it was worth it.
Parking: It's on a one way street and this place has a lot of people that go after church. I parked on the next block literally across the street from the restaurants corner“

“Listen I was in Memphis visiting from out of town and had a desire for some soul food. Got online hit the search box then hit the reviews so boom off to SOULZ we went. The food was very tasty my ONLY complaint was that I didn't have a actual piece of chicken just pieces in the dressing“

“Our food was good (pork chip, catfish, mac and cheese, green beans, cornbread). The building is very cute with the eclectic seating. The owner is sweet and gave her an infamous hug after ordering. I was worried about parking but they have signs with dedicated parking for their patrons.“

“We were driving home today and Googled “best soul food in Memphis,” and this spot popped up — it did not disappoint! The food was full of flavor and truly hit the spot. Every bite tasted homemade, like it came straight from big momma kitchen. On top of that, the staff was so warm and welcoming, it felt like having lunch with family. Definitely a place we’ll remember and recommend to anyone passing through Memphis!“

You don’t know what you’ve done for me. The first bite took me back to mornings when my great aunt would rise at 4 a.m., her hands working dough with love, her kitchen warm with comfort and care. That same joy, that same home cooked soul, lives inside every crumb of you. I’ll be honest. This store was just another spot I used to pass by. But the day I stopped a month ago, my life changed. Now I can’t stay away. The cooks and the owner greets me with kindness, the kind that feels rare these days, and the food. Oh, the food proves that greatness is worth every penny. Memphis has flavor, yes, but no place compares to you. You’ve given me more than just food. You’ve given me a taste of my happiest childhood days, a reminder that joy can still be baked fresh every morning. Even when there’s a line, nobody minds. The regulars smile, familiar faces waiting for their share of heaven, and I smile right back because we’re all here for the same reason. To share the love of this food especially the biscuits. So here I am, writing this to whomever makes the biscuits, the cooks, and the owner. This place feels like family, that turns ordinary mornings into memories, that keeps me coming back not only for the food, but for the feeling. I appreciate you all.

“This place is really a hidden gem. I wanted Turkey today and was pleasantly surprised to find Turkey wings. Big and Baked to perfection. I paired with it some spaghetti and pinto beans. I love a good bean and boy did you all get it right. Nothing too salty or over cooked. Tastes just as good as it did when I was introduced in over a decade. One plate big enough to feed two. No extra fluff just good ole soul food!“

“I had the pleasure of dining at Willie Mae's in Memphis Tn, On August 31 2022, I was thoroughly impressed with the food . The chittlins reminded me of my mommas in Rosedale Mississippi. The cornbread was firm yet moist, the Collard greens were on the money ,just enough sweetness and pepper to create an awesome flavorprofile. The Macaroni and cheese was baked to perfection, just cheesy goodness. I don't do shout outs, but if I did Willie Mae's gets my vote!“

“I ate there yesterday (first visit) and loved everything! I got the turkey and dressing, yams, and turnip greens. The portions were extremely generous, and the yams were especially delectable—like a dessert! The staff was welcoming, friendly and attentive, and I especially appreciated the history of the restaurant. I’ll be back again!“
