Ramblin’ Joe’s by Ugly Mug at MEM airport is a hidden gem after TSA. With cozy seating, delicious food and drinks, and modern decor using reclaimed lumber from the Memphis Zoo, it’s a must-visit spot. The staff are friendly and seem genuinely happy to serve customers. The ambiance is laid back and casual, making it a perfect place to catch up on work or enjoy a great coffee like their flavorful cold brew, which is always fresh and hot. Compared to the big coffee chains, their prices are reasonable, and they go out of their way to get your order just right. The cold brew has nice strength and flavor on its own. While the coffee quality is good, some pastries, like the lemon matcha scone, can be overly sweet and messy, so they might not be lightly sweet when ordered. Located near the UofM campus and Oak Court mall with free parking, it’s a small, quaint coffee house offering uniquely delicious coffee options and one organic tea. The iced Mexican Mocha Decaf Latte is highly recommended, as is the Blue Suede hot coffee, which was excellent. One visitor’s child enjoyed the egg and cheese bagel. Customer service is above and beyond, and it’s suggested to join their rewards program. This spot is a highly recommended alternative to Starbucks.
