So very lucky to have found City Cafe East. It's owners are amazing and caring people. I happened to have come in late in the day for lunch. All the food was fresh and delicious! I ended up getting dinner to go because the food is so good. I truly enjoyed my food and the friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!!

Delicious home-cooked food and the most friendly people you'll ever meet. This is good old fashioned country cooking with a small town feel in the city. Things move a little slower here, but that's not a bad thing. The owners take time to personally talk to you and ask about your day instead of just slapping food on your plate. This place is a gem.

Delicious food ans great atmosphere. Makes me really happy to find a good meat & 3 as they are getting harder and harder to find. They even cater! Definitely worth a stop for a good home cooked meal.
Parking: Parkinglot beside building, parking up too close to road unless in a smart car or on a bike.
Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kid options and a conformable space for them to eat.
Wheelchair accessibility: The side parkinglot has a wheelchair ramp to safely reach the cafe.

What an incredible gem! Visiting from out of town with a group of friends from across the world, I wanted to give them an example of great Southern fare and boy, did they deliver!
Crowd favorites were the chicken and dumplings, Mac and cheese, and cabbage. Being a southern boy I loved every single bit of it, and I was so happy to share this.
If you want amazing comfort food and a small town vibe, this is where you should go! We will be back every time we visit Nashville from now on! (PS - the tilapia was not an option to choose in the drop down of this review but it is also amazing!)
The best Meat and 3 in town hands down! I’ve never had a bad meal from here! Their chicken tortilla soup may be award winning, but their gumbo is the best I’ve ever had. Plus, George and Amy are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. You’ve got to make City Cafe a regular stop for lunch.
Dined here for the first time on my birthday this past Thursday. Met up with friends and y’all let us hang out and chat as long as we wanted. Food was amazing!! You MUST try the chicken tortilla soup!! The tilapia, ALSO AMAZING!! Love the cozy environment as it reminds me of my small town restaurants back home. We will be back every time we are in Nashville!

My new favorite. Found this place while searching for something else. The food looked good, the rating of the place was another factor. Went with high expectations and they were met. Only complaint from some of our group was the salt was just a bit too much. I didn't notice myself, but I can use a bit too much too. I will definitely be back.
