El Metate Reviews
The asada tacos were so so good. Not to greasy, shell stayed together ! The meat was perfectly seasoned for me anyway. Burritos shouldn’t be smothered ever but they were okay the husband said. Just get the tacos!!!!
Live close by and love this spot as a quick takeout. Interior and service is nice but they make the food very quickly and fill it to the brim for to go orders. Very satisfied and recommend as a takeout and dine in option
I first came across this place when I was working in food delivery — I used to pick up orders from here pretty often. I’ve been here myself three times now, and I really like it.
The prices are great for what you get. Burritos are around $10–15, tacos about $5, quesadillas start at $8, and beer was around $6.
The food is tasty, portions are solid, and overall it’s a good spot if you want something affordable and satisfying.
Definitely recommend.

El Metate is a beloved neighborhood restaurant, known for its great food and friendly staff. The team is praised for their excellent service, taking good care of their customers. The atmosphere is described as welcoming and unpretentious. Although it might seem like a simple "hole-in-the-wall" located near a seedy motel and the neighborhood is real unsafe, the authentic Mexican cuisine makes it worth visiting. The food is fantastic, flavorful, and fresh. Many customers express their appreciation for the affordability of the meals, as everything on the menu is reasonably priced. The cook's skills are highlighted as consistently delivering an impressive dining experience. Overall, El Metate is a highly recommended spot for delicious food, real good Mexican food like street tacos and three meat fajitas, and a enjoyable time.
