“We stopped here for lunch with a small group after the Getty's Sing!2024 conference. The food (tacos, side of frijoles y platanos) was delicious, reasonably priced, and promptly served. Recommended!

“Attended the Taste of the Yucatan private event here on Nov 12, 2024. This was a great intro for locals to get to know a fairly recent entry onto the 12 South scene-- and let me tell you they made a very compelling case for why they should be the Go-To neighborhood spot for area diners. Out of town foodies will love it too, but the owners really wanted to pitch local with the event. The menu for the evening featured flavors from the Yucatan peninsula, which also pull from the Caribbean apparently. The flavors on many of the plates were complex, yet some of the dishes had a home cooked vibe, like a handed-down family recipe-- made new by Chef Santibañez. Cocktails, wine, and other bar offerings were all exceptional. Overall, the food was stunning, and the entire evening was a treat. Another notable highlight was the service: having well-trained and attentive servers add to the atmosphere seems rare to find these days, but Fonda fielded a great crew for the event. Lastly, as a local, one of the more frustrating challenges in convincing my wife and I to go out in Nashville for dinner is dealing with parking, especially in areas like 12 South. Some friends who also attended were able to walk over from their home near Belmont, while we drove over from Green Hills. So a huge asset (for me) is that Fonda has their own parking right behind the restaurant! And it's validated! I highly recommend giving this restaurant a visit.“

I regularly make this particular margarita at home, so I know what it tastes like. Suggest to stick with their House Margarita, I figure that's what I got for more than double the price. “Baja Burrito is a beloved local gem, and it seems like the only place that hasn’t hiked prices up due to inflation. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in town and has been for the last 18+ years. They have delicious & fresh build-your-own tacos, burritos, taco salads, etc. It’s usually pretty busy, but they are always quick down the line! They also have several overflow parking lots beside and behind the restaurants. I will always recommend Baja to someone looking for good Mexican food!

“Great Mexican subs! Huge! They are really tasty, and they are becoming kind of expensive but they are delicious I love to eat here when I want a sub.
They have burgers and tacos too, but honestly I only tried the Tortas (subs).
If you are super hungry and starving always go for the torta cubana. You may want to share it.... It is huge.“

“The best tortas I've had outside of Mexico City! I've been there four times and I've tried, like, seven different tortas. They're all good, but the Toluqueña is the best. It's got milanesa, chorizo, and quesillo, as well the other standard torta ingredients. The tortas are even better with rajas and salsa. You have to ask for these though. The guys are super friendly too. Don't be fooled by some of the negative reviews, they're mostly from several years ago!“

“I haven't had a Mexican food experience this good in a very long time. This place is outstanding. The staff and waiter were both friendly and helpful. Jeff walked us through everything and we made our picks. I got a pollo verde taco that was phenomenal. The tomatillo infused chicken and pickled white onion was so flavorful. A seriously good taco. I also got a pollo rojo which has enchilada glazed chicken, black beans and pickled red onion. Another flavor profile stand out taco. These are smaller street tacos on amazing corn tortillas. Eating three or four wouldn't be a problem at all. I also got an order of black beans. These beer braised black beans sprinkled in queso fresco come in a cast iron skillet. These are the best beans I've ever eaten at a Mexican restaurant. The flavor is rich and hearty with delicious queso fresco. I washed everything down with a cold Modelo Negra. It doesn't get any better than that. I can't recommend this place enough! I will be back in June on buisness and this will be my first stop. Truly creative Mexican cuisine at it's best.“

“So delicious. We’re from out of state and we’re looking for a dinner away from the center of Nashville, that wasn’t a chain. We literally saw it on Google maps right before we passed it and decided to stop. SO glad we did. I’ve been missing the good pupusas I used to get in NW Arkansas, and was so happy when I saw them on the menu. We also had a sope al pastor, chorizo tacos and a new-to-us dish called pollo con tajadas. I recommend ALL of them.“
