Restaurantji's guide to Nolensville's top Mexican dining experiences.
“The location is clean and welcoming. Music volume was a good range - the gentleman working the register was very kind, informational, and patient as I had my mother with me who is quite indecisive. The food itself was solid. I do wish that the enchilada sauce they used was not so thin, a touch of viscosity would serve it well. Also serving more of the enchilada sauce on a burrito that size would serve well as I felt the amount put was just not enough for the size of burrito.Overall the meat was well seasoned and everything tasted great. Very hot salsa was not that hot. Will eat here again.“
“Overall great bar & grill place. Seems to lean on family friendly as there are standard collection of board games and cards. My mushroom & Swiss burger is as very tasty. Seasoned well and appropriately sized. My wife got the wrap and said it was just ok. She would have preferred some dressing or something within the wrap as it was dry otherwise.Kid-friendliness: Board and card games were available“
“Met my son for a Valentines lunch. He said momma I'll get your lunch today for all you have done for me. The food was good the drinks were amazing and the bonding was awesome. We will visit again. I gave it a four star because the place was nice and clean, and the food came out quickly and hot. Large portions. I had to take half of mine home.“
“This is some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had… and I lived in San Diego for years. Everything was made fresh. The guac and salsa alone are worth a trip. The corn tortillas were light and fluffy. The barbacoa was my favorite taco, but the al pastor and carnitas were both great as well. And the servers were welcoming and attentive. Everyone here clearly cares about the quality of the food served and the enjoyment of their guests. We can’t wait to go back!“
“A NEW FAVORITE. I love this place so much! Literally everything we ordered was fantastic. This is a great place to go if you want really great authentic Mexican food. I had never had chicken mole before and it is now a new obsession lol. And the rice and beans were seriously the best I've ever had. ALSO: do yourself a favor and come by to get some chilaquiles. Also also: the staff is lovely! My mom and I absolutely loved everything and we'll totally be back. <3“
“The reviews don't lie! Very quirky restaurant in a small strip center. Smooth jazz and judge Judy playing in the background. Service was quick and attentive. Food was piping hot and fresh. Great flavor. Attractive plating. I wish this place was in Nashville.“
“Craving GOOD authentic street tacos and birria and this place DID NOT disappoint. The food was so good I couldn’t even get a pic before inhaling it. Birria burrito surprised us with rice and beans in it and it was packed! Birria tacos were good portions that filled me up and the consomé was DELICIOUS. Best I’ve ever tried. I ordered 1 steak taco to try it since it was my first time here, and it was full of flavor as well. Will 100% come back!“
“The food was incredible, but the service was even better. It was truly inspirational to see Tacos4Life’s commitment to service and their passion for their extraordinary food. The dining experience was just as good with clean tables, clean floors, and clean bathrooms. The owner came up and had a conversation with me making sure I enjoyed the food which truly shows how much they care about their customers and the family like dynamic they seek to create at their establishment. Located in Brentwood, it is incredibly difficult to start and run a restaurant to the high standards expected of the residents, but Tacos4Life somehow found a way to not only exceed, but reset the expectations! Would recommend 10 times out of 10, definitely one of my favorite restaurants I have ever been to!“
“Amazing experience from food to service, food was delicious, great portions at an affordable price. Our server Javier was very attentive and anticipated our needs before we even asked! His friendly personality and hospitality made Titos our new favorite restaurant. If you visit make sure you ask for Javier!“
“The service was impeccable! The margaritas were just right (not too weak and not too strong). We all ordered vastly different dishes and were all delighted with the tastiness and ample portion sizes. The prices were also incredibly reasonable. We will definitely be back!“
“A stop on my way up north for lunch - and it was a good one. Found the place, as it was near the Sams Club where I bought gas. Popular with the locals, as I saw a constant stream of folks dining in or picking up carry out orders. I will definitely stop again when I am in the area.“
“First time here was tonight. Went with our team from work for a monthly 'no work talk dinner'. Our server was great and on top of things. The food came quickly and was good.I had a steak quesadilla and have no complaints. It was clean, especially for just after dinner rush on a Friday.A good restaurant to visit“
“Used to pass this place all the time while working, finally one day I stopped for lunch to see what it was about. There was a line to the door but still got in and out within 5 minutes. I got the chicken and rice and the food was absolutely excellent most authentic food I have found since I moved to Tennessee. Beans are absolutely the best you can get anywhere. $20 and you can feed 3 people easily.“
“Stopped by on a Friday night, we had seen this place after passing by it a couple times since we moved to the area & we're very surprised, the restaurant was pretty busy when we walked in & they had karaoke going on which was a pleasant surprised as it added to the ambience which was lively & fun... the food didn't disappoint either. We had the molcajete which was huge & was a mix of seafood & and steak, chicken, & chorizo.. a lot of food which were all well seasoned & delicious... we also had the ceviche a la playa & an order of oysters to finish it off all were great & recommended.. the dishes are pricy though but again it's seafood & portions are good.“
“We love supporting small family owned businesses. This bakery is amazing with so many delicious choices I had a hard time deciding. We bought some muffins with filling inside and they were so moist. Definitely have to go back and try the cookies, pastries and cakes. They even have cake slices so you don't have to eat the whole thing.“
“We taste tested three different Mexican restaurants for the best chicken and cheese quesadilla and chips and salsa. This place is hands down the best Mexican cuisine restaurant, they PACKED our quesadilla full, the salsa tasted fresh and the chips were nicely salted. If you’re unsure of where to eat when you’re craving Mexican, this is for sure the place to go.“
“Wow! What an amazing experience my wife and I had today. The servers made us feel as if we were honored guest in their home. Such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious, service was impeccable. Please make this a stop traveling through Dickson!“
“What a gem! This is one of the places that sometimes we judge by the image, BUT little we know have the beast flavors!!With homemade tortillas, you can see the "trompo de pastor " when you walk in, great service, very humble place and bright back memories of "fondas" in Mexico.“
“We like the food - it's not as greasy or as poor quality as you might find and the bathrooms are very clean. The aguas frescas really work with chips and cheesy dishes!Kid-friendliness: Has a kids section of menu but our daughter loves the refried beans and rice..“
“I was under the impression all American- Mexican food joints were basically the same. This one is a little different. My go to is the chimicanga and typically it comes out mooshy with the queso on top and some dry shredded chicken inside but this one arrived crunchy with queso on the side, tendy chunks of chicken and peppers and cheese inside. Best one I've ever had. Also the salsa was different than I've had before. The staff was friendly but was a little slow on service even though there were only 4 or 5 tables seated.Definitely would return.“
“Stepped out on a limb and stopped here for lunch one day. It did not disappoint! Great prices and good tacos! I like the added grilled onion slices, grilled jalapeno, and hot carrots they add on the side with the tacos. Have stopped here several times since and will in the future anytime I'm in the area“
“I read another review that stated the ceviche was better than the chips and salsa (a bit blander than a good store bought version). I noticed other tables would get the ceviche upon seating, but I assume non Hispanic people get an American version. Anyway, the mariachi band was playing which was a nice surprise…a bit loud to hear your guests speaking, but it seems to bring in a lot of happiness from all the guests. We ordered a seafood tower, steak fajitas (cheap, bland cut of meat) and some octopus. The sauce almost reminded me of a dipping sauce for crab legs and it paired so well with the tender octopus. Yum! The seafood paella on the tower was too mushy to enjoy. Crab legs were cooked to long or something cause the meat was difficult to remove from the shell and they were lukewarm. The shrimp was not deveined ? and the mussels could of been left off.No sweet tea available.I did see a whole fried fish that I would have loved to try, but being it was our first time going based off social media it wasn’t that bad.Great for large gatherings.“
“Great place to eat, absolutely loved it! We stumbled across this place by chance while out for a evening not being from the area. Some of the best Mexican food and amazing atmosphere! The staff was wonderful,we will be stopping in when we are back that way again!“
“Love this spot. The staff is super accommodating, and the food is great.I usually get the Healthy Burrito. It's vegetarian by default, and vegan if you ask for no sour cream. This is my favorite option because It leaves you feeling refreshed, unlike after a meal at Taco Bell, where you just want to keel over and die.I've brought four people to this restaurant, and they all really enjoy it. Would definitely check it out if you live close by!“
“Taquería San Luis #2 is a hidden gem for Mexican cuisine enthusiasts. The steak and chorizo tacos are a mouthwatering delight, bursting with authentic flavors. The barbacoa burrito is a must-try, generously stuffed with tender, flavorful meat.If you're in the mood for an authentic Mexican culinary experience, don't miss Taquería San Luis #2. It's a flavorful fiesta that will leave your taste buds dancing with delight.“
“I've missed my abuelas cooking for a long time, and I still do, but this place made it easy to remember her. The first review I checked mentioned their Pozole being top tier, and I knew I had found the place I'd been looking for. Got a bowl a lot bigger than I thought it would be and finished the whole thing ?. Staff was wonderful and very patient with what little Spanish I could manage to remember. Bring family!“
“I hate how great this place was. If I could, i would rate them higher. Customer service was fantastic. The food was amazing. I'm already planning to drive the hour to come back soon. Totally recommend l. The spicy pork was amazing and not spicy at all ended up eating three of them and the barbecue was amazing at “
“The prices are really confusing and theyusually don’t have someone who speaks English fluently working, so ordering is hard and I always end up paying more than I think I will cause it’s hard to communicate. I paid $12.49 for chips and guac, two tiny barbacoa tacos, and horchata. The portion sizes of the tacos and the guac is so small that I can’t really say I feel like I got my money’s worth. Everything also needed more salt, the food lacked flavor. The horchata is ok but a little watered down. Because it seems like the prices are going up while the food quality stays the same I probably won’t be back, but give it a try if you’re craving mexican fast food in lavergne, the drive thru is very convenient.“
“Warm homemade corn tortillas wrapped around your option of eight traditional proteins served authentico style with cilantro and onion. Extensive menu of made in house entrees and meals. Thankfully for me everyone one spoke English and they were all really nice. We had the al pastor tacos which is tender pork cooked with trace of pineapple for flavor. It’s an incredible dish which comes with some fresh salsa, chips and a more mild jalapeño sauce and very spicy red sauce.“
“This is my go-to for my weekend taco fix. Asada, carnitas, pastor, and chorizo tacos are phenomenal. Their quesabirria's are crispy and full of flavor, and their tamales are huge! Can't wait to try more of their menu. Dining area is small, but personally I think it adds to the charm.Do yourself a favor, folks; come visit this place. It's the real deal.“
“I love Louie's taco shop. My favorite is the birriah tacos (maybe didn't spell that right). I get some every time I visit. The tortas are good too! I love that I can sit at the bar and get a drink too! It's not expensive either. If you are in Antioch you definitely gotta eat here. The breakfast options they have are good too so don't sleep on this place for breakfast either.“
“Absolutely fantastic experience! The staff was super friendly. We came in while there was a large family having a birthday party. There was music, karaoke, etc.It was a nice environment for EXCELLENT food and nice people! Everybody was SO nice.Kid-friendliness: Kids were having a great time, but it wasn't a madhouse playground like some places. Kids are obviously welcomed, but there's no playground or anything if you're looking for that.“
“These were some good tacos I’ve had in a while. My absolute favorite was the BBQ taco, it was packed with so much flavor and so juicy! The steak taco (tender) was good as well as the pollo (it was ok) but the BBQ taco was the highlight of the meal. I also ordered a asada quesadilla and it was delicious with the green sauce.I wish I was given more limes. The tortillas was dry but when you top it with the sauce everything came together.Very clean food truck! Was impressed on the cleanliness for it to be located outside a gas station. 9.2/10“
“It's the only cool chicken in Nashville. It resembles the original flavor of Honduras and reminds me a lot of Honduras because the waitresses serve you a little poorly, literally, you have to serve yourself alone, but it is not an obligation to leave a tip like in Honduras.“
“Very good salsa, and quality food. Try the sope, it's a lot of good food for the price. Took my family of 5 there on a Saturday night, and was pleasantly surprised by being seated immediately, and the wait time for the food was very reasonable.Only 2 reasons this isn't a 5 star--parking is very limited, and they had VERY loud karaoke when we were there. Not sure what nights they do that, but it was VERY annoying having to yell at my family to communicate as a terrible drunk singer wailed away at the loudest possible volume.“
“8 years later and this is still my go to spot. I happily drive 50 miles for this experience whenever I can. It's like Chipotle but wayyy better, and they actually have chipotle sauce. Best ingredients, Best salsa bar, and authentic. If Chile Burrito was a religion, I'd be an Asada Priest baptized in Holy Guacamole Image:“
“I mean it's tacos come on lol well I had a sincronizada but it was good I only got to tase red sauce because I was not given green sauce and I didn't ask for it, my only recommendation is if you want something they might of forgotten to give you just ask for it I'm pretty sure they shouldn't be “
“The food is the best especially the burritos in the fajitas. I just want to say that I love the family atmosphere that’s there and I love how caring and friendly the staff is. I pretty much go there two or three times a month I just enjoyed the atmosphere. every time I come there, I think the guy is the owner, but it seem like we are related, he always greet me with a smile and catches up with me.Love El Rodeo“
“The owner is a lovely hard working individual and truly cares about the patrons. I’m typing this review as they are getting slammed…however she is still keeping a positive attitude and embracing every customer with a smiling face and making sure the requests are being met! I will be back for more.“
“Thi s place is one of the greatest on earth real food from real people. The area its located in is very diverse. You know people nfrom all walks of life . This is my naba hood and always will be. Please come check them out . Ima stamp them certified. The heart of LA.Lower Antioch.“
“My God, this place is phenomenal. Service food people. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I have eaten at. The people I went with went back it was so good the next day. Unfortunately, I started a fast, but it will be the first place I visit when my fast is over!!!!Parking: Lots of spaceKid-friendliness: Baby chairs, the atmosphere is wonderful.“
“I love the views, the service was great.. The staff were pleasant. The manager was very pleasant. The chips they have were great.. my only downside were the soft tacos.. it was not up to par!! I have had a lot better. My friend I went with is a huge fan,but the tacos were not was I expecting.. otherwise a pleasant experience.“
“Three visits that were all great! A Facebook group was the reason for the first visit and I keep going back. I've tried both margaritas on the rocks and frozen. They both taste the same and are the best in this area. The salsa is also the best if you don't mind an occasional hot pepper. The combination i has a chili relleno, is so good I keep getting it and think about it whenever Im hungry. You can specify your meat choices or beans or cheese. A friend got a different combination, loved it, and said he was stuffed. Another friend ordered cactus as a side and I had never heard of eating it. The manager was very nice and accomodated our request to turn off the music for a special needs young man. I will be back soon!“
“Yummy! Food is very DELICIOUS! Authentic, very nice people. We ate their tacos, rice, beans and chicken quesadillas. Cant wait to try other items. Will be back soon. I highly recommend, you will definitely become a repeat customer. Also, just fyi... you go inside to order then they prepare your food in the food trailer, so you actually don't order at the food trailer.“
“Soooo glad this Mexican restaurant came in! We've been here multiple times and have had great experiences every time. We've had the molcajete, Chile Colorado, carne asada with shrimp, etc. - for dessert, the churros are a must!Parking: Plenty of parking, free lotKid-friendliness: Family friendly“
“This restaurant has just changed management in this new year 2024, and it is undoubtedly one of the best Mexican food restaurants that I can recommend. The employees and owners are very friendly and attentive, they make you feel very comfortable. The place is very big and nice. And if we talk about the main thing, which is the food, I can say that it is super delicious and satisfying. If you still don't know where to go to eat, whether alone or in the company of your beautiful family, I recommend that you visit this place...Parking: The restaurant is located in a very quiet place.Kid-friendliness: Excellent place to enjoy with the family, especially if there are little ones.Wheelchair accessibility: It has very large space for people who need to travel in wheelchairs.“
“I've driven past this place so many times and last night decided to stop in for dinner. Amazing! Such friendly owners, and very fast service for the quality of the meal. I got steak fajitas, and they were absolutely delicious! I was so impressed with this place.“
“I called over 8 “Mexican” restaurants while visiting Nashville last week, and no one was / served caldo! My MIL was sick and wanted authentic hot soup, and this place is IT!! She saved the day when she answered my call and said “yes we have caldo” and she went as far as to even mention that it wasn’t full of veggies per how it’s usually made. She said this one was more of a consume style.I took it anyway, ordered one for pick up. It was ready when I arrived. She took card. I was in and out with no wait time.Truly was so grateful. And it made my MIL feel so much better!Came with rice and utensils.“
“First time in Nashville TN and I really liked it. My second time coming and came back to this place. Service is good, the girl was really patient and explained the menu carefully and the food has good flavor. Totally recommend it. Only reason why it missed a star is the floor, it needs tile, but I don't know how long they been in business.“
“Love the food and the service. I'd loved it if the music wasn't loud. But they are going for the party vibes, so, I guess loud music makes sense. I'd definitely go there again.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options available just like any other Mexican restaurant.“
