Good food and atmosphere. Bad service. Had 6:15 reservation for two. Seated at 6:30. Salad came at 7:30. Entree came at 8.15......two hours after we arrived. Manged to escape at almost 9:00 pm.
The menu did not match one table. No A5 that was disappointing still spend $95 on a steak and it was OK but not great. Service was beyond impeccable. I really believe the steaks are ok not great next time I will try another place in the area. Note*** was very disappointed no wagyu on the menu after seeing the online menu felt bait and switched still spent over 300 without being satisfied.
We were so excited to try Jimmy Kelly's. Overall, it was okay and what I would say was a very average dining experience. For the food, despite having our steaks ordered the same, the temperatures were definitely different (one was rare, and one was medium rare(both were supposed to medium rare)). The sides and corn cakes were AMAZING! Also, great happy hour deals considering the scale of the restaurant. I will say, the chairs were very uncomfortable. For an upscale steakhouse, it was definitely off-putting. My finance switched out his chair with really no change. Noticed the table next to us did the same as well. I was a little bummed they didn't register the celebration we had marked as well. I had made a reservation and stated it was a celebration/birthday. I know they place cards and glitter on the table for these types of celebrations, so it was a little annoying that they were not honored; not a huge deal but it's always nice.
Ribeye Steak was overpriced and didn't come out hot. Filets were excellent. Sides and salad were very good. Crème brûlée was undercooked. Drinks weren't attended to for last half of meal.
Great steaks, all the sides were good and plenty to share completely awesome service. Will 100% be back!
Always a fantastic experience! Old favorites with some new things to try. One of our favorite places!
Jimmy Kelly's is a go-to whenever I am in Nashville. Great food, personal touch, and a departure from the chain steakhouse experience.
We were mostly disappointed. We arrived early and were seated but did not have any contact with any staff for 10 minutes once seated. No water, no menus, no beverages. Food service was very fast, almost too fast. Katie's potatoes were recommended and as a potato lover I ordered. They were flavorless and a bit greasy. The Caesar salad was drenched in dressing. We shared a 12 oz steak that did not look like any more than 8 oz. We debated about medium and medium well and made the bad choice of medium well. The server indicated medium was bright red center. All we wanted was a warm pink center. We chose medium well and ended up with a burnt edge, well done steak with zero pink. Disappointing considering the price.
Being a native Nashvillian, I have eaten at Jimmy Kelly's many times. It's always been good, predictable and comforting. The "famous" corn cakes have not been the same for years. I remember crunchy, not sweet ,hot water corn cakes when I was a little girl and a younger adult. The last few years they have changed into pretty, pan cake style, soft, sweet corn/flour cakes that are very uniform. I miss the crunchy, irregular, fried salty, "Hoe Cakes". I can over look that but my steak last night was not Medium Rare ; it was Medium at best and verging on Medium well. I did not send it back because I knew it would be wasted and they would bring another steak that would take at least 20-30 minutes. The rest of my table got their steaks as ordered but as I was leaving I overheard a lady say that her med rare was over cooked. We chatted and agreed that neither one of us had gotten the steak cooked correctly. Perhaps the person who cooked our steak was new at the game but Jimmy Kelly's and another local steak house are known for accurate temperatures. Perhaps I will remember to ask for , "rare" and then send it back for an adjustment.
We had 7:30pm reservation - coming from the Vandy football game that went into overtime. Called at 7:10pm to tell them we were going to be late. They kindly moved up to 8pm. Jessica, our server was amazing. We loved the shared tomahawk special. Just the right amount of food and that brandy peppercorn sauce was just the right addition.

Couldn’t wait to come to jimmy Kellys as hearing it was the oldest steakhouse in Nashville. It s quite charming and the waiter was excellent. We had salads, shrimp cocktail and steaks. Big problem is the porterhouse was overcooked and the rib eye was overcooked. We didn’t care for the Brussels sprouts. The mashed were good as well as the potato pancake. The size of the portion was gigantic. Was nice to visit.
The service was outstanding for our 89 year old's birthday celebration. And the food was beyond excellent! Can't thank your crew enough for an EPIC dining experience.
We had a wonderful experience at Jimmy Kelly's Steakhouse. We started with cocktails at the bar. Where we had oysters and jumbo shrimp.
Next we sat down for a great dinner. We had the dinner for two. Started with the house salad and Cesear salad, then the tomahawk steak. Had a delicious bottle of Markham mellow. Finished off the night with the bread pudding.
What made the dinner was our waiter Jimmy.
