I've now visited Verna for takeout coffee on the patio, brunch-in, happy hour in the front, and happy hour in the back. All were lovely, vibey experiences. The food menu offers fun twists on staples and the drinks (coffee & alcoholic) are incredible. The one place I remember visiting in Nashville as a teen was Coco, so you can only imagine my pleasant surprise when discovering this new place I love fills the shoes perfectly & is becoming its own really cool thing.

Verna Café & Bar is located in a renovated old historic home in Midtown. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. The food and drinks are amazing and fairly priced. The menu is fabulous with creative dishes. The baby cakes are gluten free and delicious, and the black sesame matcha latte is wonderful. A lunch of steak fried rice was delicious and filling. The building is gorgeous with unique features. The owner Bo is friendly and accommodating. Service from Shane was next level and attentive. The restaurant is LGBTQIA friendly and dog friendly. Be aware they close from 3-5 to reset service. Guests will definitely come back to try it as a bar.
