This place is amazing!! Truly amazing! Octopus appetizer was cooked perfectly. Tender and meaty, excellent flavor! They had a beet salad on the specials menu, very very good! Lamb ragout was very flavorful and absolutely delicious. The cauliflower pizza (we added Italian sausage) was perfection! Perfect crust, subtle pesto, amazing! Absolutely MUST try the budino dessert! Glad we found our new favorite restaurant!
Had lunch at Salento Italia in Donelson. Same menu as dinner but that is no problem - plenty of choices. I LOVE that they offer petite versions of their pasta bowls. I had the Orecchiette & Chicken. The sauce is a truffled pecorino cream and it is heavenly. Wanted to lick the bowl but resisted! Also had a Caesar salad. Great Caesar dressing. Salad was a bit overdressed. This place is fresh and modern, with service to match. I had the mussels for the appetizer and the scallops with polenta for the main. The ONLY reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, is that I had a craving for baked Italian bread with olive oil and grated parm for dipping and they don’t offer it…? Although, moving on to desert, was their tiramisu with a dark rum topper. WOW! Don’t pass up Salento Italia!
