The Cookery offers a relaxed and inviting atmosphere with friendly service, welcoming everyone in a comfortable, clean, and family-friendly environment. The restaurant is known for its delicious food, including the best hamburger and absolutely the best cinnamon roll in Nashville. The pulled pork is tender with a slightly smoky flavor, and the Aussie Style Meat Pie and Aussie Sausage Roll are amazing and very filling and full of flavor. The sausage rolls and spinach crepes are also popular choices. The sides, such as the well seasoned and delicious house made, oven roasted Potato Fries and fresh veggie salad, are generous and tasty. The servings are large, with many customers taking home leftovers. The service is great, with amazing and friendly, helpful, and welcoming people.
Additionally, The Cookery serves amazing coffee and fresh Australian food and flavors at affordable prices. It also serves as a place of community and support, welcoming students from neighboring universities and hosting events like songwriters' nights. The primary mission of the restaurant is to rehabilitate and educate formerly homeless individuals, providing them with skills for a culinary career. The atmosphere makes it an excellent spot for a relaxed breakfast or lunch, including the best pancakes ever, and it includes a prayer wall where guests can leave or take a prayer and even pay for meals for those in need.
