“We had planned a trip to the Lodge Museum and store. I honestly didn't know about Big Bad Breakfast when we pulled in. Lucky for us, because we were hungry. We certainly weren't hungry when we left. I had the cathead biscuit. I'm so glad that I did. I thought it was wonderful. The chicken was super crisp and flavorful. The biscuit was easily the top of my list of best biscuits EVER. Now, I will warn you if you like soft bottom biscuits. This one wasn't. It was crisp, with a perfect cust like texture on the bottom. Just the way I like them. I'm just sorry there isn't a Big Bad Breakfast closer to home.“

“I always prefer the “made from scratch” & “Mom and Pop” type places instead of the big name restaurants. I happen to be looking at a Chattanooga magazine at my daughter‘s house while visiting last week and ran across a little feature on the Bluegrass Grill. Knowing I would be taking one of my daughters to lunch for her birthday while visiting, this sounded like the perfect place to try. And by golly, it certainly was the perfect place! Both of my daughters and I really enjoyed the Eggs Benedict and were pretty picky about our hollandaise sauce. My three grandsons enjoyed their pancakes and French toast and one took a chance at the jalapeño bacon and loved it. My daughters have lived in the area for several years but neither had been there before. I know they will be back and so will I during future visits! And reading the story behind the grill. What a blessing your history has been to so many people! Thank you for your compassion and your heart’s mission. That made the visit to the Bluegrass Grill even more special! God Bless you all!“

EDIT: November 23rd, 2025 - it's my birthday, and yet again Adam and the Rodizio staff have knocked it out of the park. My husband loves the Hearts of Palm, and though it wasn't out on the bar, Adam went out of his way to get some for us. Kevin (one of the Gauchos) made sure the type of meat we were hoping for was brought around quickly. Awesome experience here every time!“

“Late lunch here and the food was fantastic! Hubby and I both had the Puckett’s BBQ-brisket for me and pork for him. Very tender meat and delicious side-smoked baked beans and potato salad. Friendly server who checked on us regularly. Definitely recommend“

I will give them the benefit of the doubt this time and try them again someday. I’m bothering to leave a review because I know it is important for restaurants, especially, and not doing so helps no one… We, perhaps, challenged them today by having a party of twelve, however, a well organized team would have risen to that occasion. Our food was late, forty minutes late, arrived piecemeal, and mostly cold. Most just accepted this, I did not. Though my entree looked ‘ok’ it was cold. Greasy, cold, over cooked potatoes are not something you serve, ditto a breakfast burrito. Teamwork among the staff seemed lacking. Our server seemed to lose us in the fray. Today was a cool day, breezy, yet in spite of that the place was wide open with garage doors up and we had to ask several times to close a nearby door that was repeatedly propped open by staff. I spoke to a manager regarding my entree but it apparently did no good, as I never did get the fresh hot entree she promised and bummed a slice of pizza from someone in our party. I’ll be honest; the pizza was good! You eat even cold pizza when you’re hungry… As I said, I will try these folks again in hopes of a better experience.“

Grabbed a slice of pepperoni and a slice of their special of the day. Tried the meatballs as an appetizer, which surprised me by their size, but they pack a lot of flavor in a small bite and the sauce they use is fantastic. Sweet little spot to check out if you’re in the area. Don’t be scared of the paid parking when you get there, it’s surprisingly cheap.“

“This was our first time at this amazing fully vegan spot on our way from IL to FL. While we have enjoyed other vegan restaurants in the area in the past, this is by far our favorite. We enjoyed the Thai Chili Bowl and the Reuben (aka Little Steppenwolf) along with a dumpling appetizer that was on special. Everything tasted so delicious and the owners were friendly and very customer service forward, accommodating my request for very low oil. We were so happy to find this spot and will be visiting again next time we are in Chattanooga.“

And Today we found it at Southside Pizza, we ordered 2 slices to eat in, one bite and I knew I had to order a 20 inch pie to take home. although it takes 40+ minutes to get there, this will now be our pizza place !
