Tbh the food is nothing to write home about, but there is no better way to spend a nice evening than outdoor seating, watching the sunset over the lake and (not) feeding the ducks with friends and family! The chips and queso are great and I do recommend! You can also enjoy watching football games inside on tv when it's cooler weather (and I assume other sports).
It's so nice having this gem here out of the way of the busier parts of town! Also my husband is very gluten sensitive and they have never made him sick! Very few places can claim that! If the food tasted better we'd eat here every day!“

“Incredible time at rodizio as always. Tremendous food. Only thing that was quite irritating was the birthday bongos that were played right behind two combat vets heads and wasn't very pleasant for us. We weren't mad at the service or the people they were just doing their jobs, it was the twisted loud sounds that were upsetting to us is all. Minus that, great time, great food can't wait for another adventure.“

“Since its opening, The Local Goat has been the go-to overnight stop on our I-75 North/South trek. Initially this was because the restaurant was next to our hotel, but now we stop because of the great food. Today, I want to give a loud SHOUT OUT to our waitress, Skylar. She reflects good service and compliments the excellent food of The Local Goat experience. Sky engaged in a friendly conversation with a very sweet, personal touch; we will remember to ask for her on our next stop!“

“We love this restuarant and it’s our go-to place for every milestone moments but this review is about a bad experience we had today with our lunch order. We ordered a take out for my husband’s birthday and when we came back home we found one entree is missing. On calling back the restaurant , we explained in details what’s missing and requested them to keep the item ready as we wanted to eat together as a family before everything becomes cold. However when my husband reached the restaurant he was told that they didn’t believe us and then the server went to talk to the chef. After that she was convinced that the issue was on their side and took another 20 mins to give the food. This is outrageous and honestly feels borderline racist. She could’ve checked with the chef before we went back. We love this restaurant but this has left a very bad impression on us“

“We’ve eaten at Drakes, Chattanooga, since it’s opening and never been disappointed until today when a customer brought a dog inside to the inside “patio” seated at the table next to us. The dog was hyper and the man kept scratching it. Next a female joined him and began scratching the dog. The waiter reached down and also scratched the dog. Next time the waiter came by, the dog jumped up on her and again she scratched the dog. We asked to move inside to an empty booth. After we moved the man brought in another dog. Why were dogs allowed in the restaurant? They were NOT service dogs.“

“I’m a very picky eater and when a friend suggested my husband and I eat at Haven’s with him we agreed. My husband had meatloaf, okra, cabbage with a corn muffin and I had the fried chicken wings, mashed potatoes, black eyed peas with a corn muffin. Every single thing we ate was the best we have ever tasted!! I couldn’t believe it. Our friend ordered the pork chops and could only eat one so my husband got to eat the other one. Seriously, it was hard to leave there with out ordering two or three meals to go. Since we live in Cleveland Haven's will see us at LEAST once a week. “My family has been coming here for decades and I went to school and church with several Ankars at OLPH and NDHS. I went to the Brainerd location today (my favorite). Unfortunately today’s experience was not great (but there’s no way I’m giving an “I do not recommend”). We ordered 3 hoagies. The bread usually comes out warm and soft (and we usually buy a bag to take back to Oklahoma with us). Today’s bread was not warm, chewy, and a bit tough. The onion rings were cooked unevenly with one basket being very light in color and the other 2 being much darker. Idk how many Ankars work at this location, but I did not see anyone. I hope the legacy is not coming to a close. I still wanted to get a t-shirt before leaving. The girl at the counter was confused by my request and got someone else who had to get a 3rd person to locate the shirts. The size he brought out was M and I wanted L. Had to wait while he checked and there were no Ls. This took about 7 minutes from start to finish. No apologies or offers to order one. I’ll be back to Ankar’s next time I’m in town. Just not this location. I hope that things improve there. Ankar’s was a gem not too long ago and it would be a shame to lose this Chattanooga landmark.“

“We came to Chattanooga for my husband’s birthday. I wanted to treat him to a delicious meal. This is the second time I have personally ate firebirds and both times the steak has been absolutely amazing. My only complaint is that I wish all meals came with two sides instead of just one. Other than that when I say the steak was beyond amazing we even heated outlets over the next day in a microwave and they were still delicious. If you want an amazing steak give this place a try you will NOT be disappointed“

“Rolling J’s catered my wedding reception in Signal Mountain, TN. We are not local, and I just found them on Facebook and Google! They were very communicative, kind, fun, AND the food was AMAZING. We and all the guests were beyond impressed. By far the best wedding food we’ve ever had, but also some of the best food we’ve ever had all around!!! “I was visiting Chattanooga for the weekend.. When traveling, I like to try non-chain restaurants. My daughter found Seafood King Gene on line and off we went. When we arrived it was a food truck. I was horrified as I am skeptical about food safety in food trucks. Because we were starving, I decided to try it. OMG this was the best food I've ever eaten. My daughter wanted seafood but they were sold out. We had rib tips, whole corn-on-the-cob, cheese potatoes, and broccoli. Every bite of each food was soooo scrumptious, seasoned perfectly. Portions were huge; I could eat off of it for three meals--worth the $30 per plate. Even though we had to eat in the car in the parking lot, the food was so good I had to go back to give King Gene a generous tip. Fortunately, my concern about food safety was not an issue. Staff (including King Gene himself) was very pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Seafood King Gene Express. The next time I'm in Chattanooga, I will go back. Thanks King Gene, and keep up the great cooking.“
