Kilgore's Restaurant Reviews
Great "meat and three"; excellent desserts. Usually super busy Thursday thru Saturday at the dinner hour but I've never heard anyone complain about the wait. Informal, family atmosphere with 4-top booths & tables for seating. Servers are frlendly and provide prompt service. If you like " county cooking " and don't want to do it yourself, try them, you won't be disappointed!
Old fashion family/ friend friendly local eatery. Always something to enjoy.
The hot bar offers nice options with meat and vegetables. I have also ordered from the menu. The food is very good, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and prices are very reasonable.

Kilgore's Restaurant is a family-owned establishment that offers a wide variety of dishes, from catfish and house salads to mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. The portions are plentiful, and the food is cooked to perfection. Standout menu items include their hushpuppies, which are deep-fried to crispy golden goodness, and the loaded baked potatoes. The restaurant is able to accommodate large parties, and the staff works hard to ensure great customer service, with very friendly and inviting service. Prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the portion sizes. The restaurant has a clean and neat appearance, with a ramp for wheelchair accessibility. While the parking lot is just a gravel lot with no marked spaces, it is suitable for the location. Kilgore's Restaurant is a great place for families, as there are many families with children dining there, and kids' meals are available. The catfish, whether breaded or grilled, is the best many have ever had, and the baked fish with onion rings and coleslaw is off the chain. The burgers are good-sized, very juicy, and full of flavor, and the fries and beans are absolutely delicious. It's one of Smithville's finer places, with a great small-town feeling.
