The food and service were outstanding. Such a great find in Tazewell! We will be back.
We had a wonderful dinner at Rail Spike Steaks last night and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The selection of food was outstanding, with plenty of great choices, and the quality of everything we ordered was excellent.
The service was friendly, attentive, and prompt throughout our meal. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere—it was comfortable, welcoming, and made for a very enjoyable evening. Kudo's to owner, James, for personally welcoming us.

Rail Spikes Steaks is a restaurant in the Tazewell area that offers an outstanding selection of food with plenty of great choices. The quality of everything ordered is excellent. The Philly cheese steak, fried corn, house-made potato skins, SLC Roast Beef, Black & Blue Wedge Salad with steak, special pork chop, Prime Rib, and Grilled Salmon are all highly recommended. The steak is cooked to perfection, and the corn (mom’s secret recipe), asparagus, and rice are amazing. The service is friendly, attentive, and prompt, with a staff that is wonderful and takes great care of customers. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. The owner personally welcomes guests. The ranch dressing was a bit watery, and the music was a little loud, but these would not keep anyone from coming back. Rail Spikes Steaks is a great addition to the area and worth the trip. It is quickly becoming a favorite place to eat and will be on the must eats from now on.
