The waitress was very friendly, sweet and efficient. Great service! The food was just OKAY. The fried rice was a semi hard chewy white rice with some kind of soy sauce on it. And that was it. The sushi we had was fairly good. The salad was just a bowl of lettuce that you squeeze yum yum sauce onto yourself. Definitely not a fan of that.

Very seldom do we stumble on a quality restaurant in Podunk towns in the South.But Yamatos is amazing.They could easily be a top contender for a Diamond rating. But they're geared more to satisfy the local population and passing Highway traffic.It is owned and operated by a genuine Japanese Chef...and it becomes apparent from the first bite to the last on any menu item. The Teriyaki Shrimp Bento Box was fantastic! Their seaweed salad was excellent as well. Great service, great food, wonderful ambience. A piece big city fancy in rural America. Also if you are Muslim or strict vegetarian please ask for the sauce to be the regular soy sauce. They use beef broth in the sauceVegetarian options: Ask them to swap the sauce for their soy sauce
