The menudo was tasteless, but what was bad, was the quality! It had pieces of menudo that were black! You can fool yourself trying to make it good, by removing those pieces, and by adding some flavor to it by adding cilantro and such.

La Popular Bakery is known for its delicious burritos and tasty tamales, with exceptional beans and barbecue. The staff is friendly, and service is faster when dining inside. Customers particularly enjoy the Carne guisada breakfast burrito and the picadillo breakfast burrito, often praising their quality and flavor. The salsa is considered addictive and adds extra enjoyment to the meals. While the burritos are good, some find the hot sauce lacking in taste and heat. Despite the long lines, customers say it's worth the wait, especially for a great start to the day. The atmosphere isn't a highlight, but the affordability and quick service, especially with the drive-thru, are appreciated. Fans especially enjoy the location on S. 1st St and wish there were more outlets elsewhere. The place is seen as the best in Abilene for authentic Mexican cuisine, with staff caring about their products and making every dish A 1.
