“We happened to be in Abilene for the weekend And found Belle's Chicken Dinner House. It had lots of good reviews and we decided to try it. I'm so glad we did, the food was wonderful. It reminded me of a place in Crested Butte, Colorado called Slogar ( I don't know if it is even still open), but better and the prices were good.“
“Ordered the jerk chicken plate. This came with two pieces of chicken, rice & peas, and cabbage. The chicken was tender with a mild flavor (no heat), as was the cabbage. The rice & peas used the traditional red kidney beans and had a woodsy flavor, but the scotch bonnet pepper was missing. Overall I'll go back to try the goat curry or the ox tail.“
