This is quite a different type of Mexican restaurant with a Caribbean type of food. Yes, not traditional, not Tex-Mex either. That is why I liked it because it was different. The portions are big and the taste is big too. I had the puffed taco and it filled the entire plate. My waitresses was US Navy and she was wonderful even rhough she thought I spoke Spanish.
We arrived just after the lunch rush and were seated immediately. Chips, salsa, and a small bowl of refried black bean dip appeared immediately.Drink orders were handled quickly. Margarita tasted like they forgot the tequila. We stumbled across this resaurant and have been back several times. Sandra and Edgar have been our servers and they are very helpful and enjoyable. The food was wonderful and consistent on every visit. My husband has celiac disease and must be gluten free. He can have many options here that we don't get other places. We will keep going back!
