Doug Henk's Hickory Pit Bar-B-Q is a 4th generation, locally owned, nostalgic BBQ joint. The ribs, sausage, and brisket are all really good, with the brisket being the most tender ever eaten with a nice piece of fat. The ribs fall off the bone. The potato salad is good, the beans are amazing, and the Cole slaw is SUPER fresh and tasty. Customers recommend the 3 rib plate, which includes potato salad, cold slaw, extra sauce, and a drink. The peach cobbler tastes like a Grammy's. The food is amazing, the vibe is amazing, and the service is amazing, with a 10 out of 10 customer service rating. The atmosphere is charming and the service is hometown friendly. The portions are generous, with one plate enough for 2 people. This is the BEST OF THE BEST place, the best ribs ever, and true Texas BBQ. It is a traditional hole in the wall spot, owned and run by Henk, the man cutting up the ribs behind the counter.
