I also feel in love with the kids they show the same warmeth of there parents and grand parents. This is my place to go for delicious soul food and will tell any one that don't live in the area take a drive and stop here to eat or take out.It is a gift for my family and I.“

“Three of us went for a Sunday afternoon meal and we were glad we did. The ox tails were fork tender and well seasoned. The sides (collard greens, okra and tomatoes, yams, red beans) were flavorful. The cornbread was like home cooked!! The desserts (Italian Cream cake, peach cobbler and lemon cake) were very good. The service was outstanding!!! The servers were all pleasant and smiling. Staff checked on us several times during our meal. The owner checked on diners personally. We really enjoyed talking to him. “Today was a nice day and I decided to go to Mikkis for my Seniors dinner. When I arrived a staff member opened the door for me. Then the lines was not jammed. My order was placed and the staff were prompt in responding. The turkey wings are fall off the bone good. The gravy is just the right consistency. The mashed potatoes are so creamy and delicious. The cabbage is fresh and sweet as candy. The yams, my goodness, can anyone do yams like this restaurant. Absolutely not. The cornbread is such a good texture, it is almost like cake. The staff has changed to a more friendly and polite team. Always enjoy my visits here.“

“My family is from New Orleans, after losing both parents and an older brother during the Holidays, I decided to cater from Ms Catherine rather than cook for myself. It was truly the best decision. Absolutely all of the Holiday meal was definitely like being back home. Everything was very good, and reasonably priced. I have returned for the fried ribs. GAME CHANGER! “My wife was craving pupusas but I was craving pollo asado so we ordered both.The pupusas were big and stuffed with cheese. The curtido had the perfect “pickled” taste. The salsa was tasty with a kick!The pollo asado plate fed us both and we had enough left over for a second round each. The pollo asado was very flavorful and the smoked sausages were a nice surprise. The rice was good and the charro beans were delicious. They had a good amount of sausage and bacon in them.“
