“This is a must-try every time! They visit my university for Food Truck Thursday, and whenever OMG is there, I make sure to stop by.
Their food is the perfect combination of comfort, flavor, and soul—they truly know how to do it right. The service is always friendly and efficient. There can be a bit of a wait, but it’s absolutely worth it. The prices are reasonable, especially for the quality and portions you receive.
The brisket-loaded potatoes are incredible and easily one of my favorite menu items. Also the shrimp and chicken Alfredo is immaculate 🔥 Honestly, I don’t know why they don’t have a permanent restaurant yet!
If you're in Houston, do yourself a favor and check them out. You won’t be disappointed ☺“
“Kinfolks are my kind of people. The service is great, and mother and daughter is a great team. The food is great and I am always happy with the food and excellent example of customer service. I also feel in love with the kids they show the same warmeth of there parents and grand parents. This is my place to go for delicious soul food and will tell any one that don't live in the area take a drive and stop here to eat or take out.It is a gift for my family and I.“

Mind you, I never liked oxtail or had I ever tasted soul food before! And boy did I enjoy my plate! She even gave me a corn bread for free.. it was beyond 10 out of 10!!“

“I was searching for a place to eat and Mama's Oven popped up on the search and I ate here today on 7 July 2026. I had the baked chicken wings, green beans, pinto beans, & corn bread and it was delicious 😋. I would recommend stopping here for a bite. I will definitely be back.“

“We had the chitterlings, fried fish, collard greens, potato salad, black eyed peas, candied yams, red beans and rice.
All the food was seasoned to perfection. Nothing was too salty or too spicy. All the food was served hot and fresh in terms of temperature.
The chitterlings were superb, so tender and juicy.
The catfish was truly “Chefs Kiss” it was served piping hot and the batter was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We ordered an 8 piece just to take home and eat later. So that should tell you how decadent it was.
The potato salad tasted like someone’s momma made it with mustard, relish, onions, no eggs, but I didn’t miss them because this potato salad was so flavorful!!
The greens were so tender and juicy!
The red beans and rice with sausage was so creamy and delicious !
I wish I could give Soulfood by Catherine 10 stars!! We flew all the way from Las Vegas to try it!!“

“If I could rate the customer service here higher than 5 stars, I definitely would. I would especially like to recognize Ms. Cecilia. Over the past two days, I’ve gone into the office and seen her helping multiple residents while handling her responsibilities with professionalism and patience.
She always has a welcoming smile and works quickly to help residents find solutions to their concerns. I’ve never seen an Assistant Manager so genuinely dedicated to her job and the people she serves.
Thank you, Ms. Cecilia, for all of your hard work, patience, and dedication. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and they are greatly appreciated.“
