We had such a good time here. Was with 8 friends on Friday night and the folks at Academia TOTALLY took care of us. Food was amazing. Bartender made us some drinks I've never heard of. The best for me (on the menu) was the chartreuse shot with root beer chaser. Will definitely be back (at the very least so I can figure out what The Gonk is). Thank you for an awesome night in Austin.

Cool cocktails, have been out of some of the spirits on the menu both times I've come. Per my inebriated barstool neighbor, there's something about the banners being book references and if you can guess it... something happens? But other than that, fairly standard cocktail bar. No snackies, not a lot of atmosphere to set it apart from the pack.

Great vibe. Very classy feeling bar with high top seating as well as chairs and even couches with tables. Wonderful signature cocktails and great bourbon selection. Prices are what you would expect for downtown. They do not have outdoor seating.

I love this place. The ambiance is swanky, classy and the perfect place to enjoy a good conversation. They always play good music but at a volume you don't have to scream over. The craft cocktails are perfection and the bartenders are never too cool for amazing customer service while putting on a great show. The drink prices are low for the area... not to mention the craftsmanship and ambiance. The bartenders are so friendly and thoughtful this place feels like it's just my neighborhood bar, it's so comfortable but clean and classy. Phairon is the best, don't pick a drink, you should definitely get her to surprise you... she's never given me a bad drink.

Bit of an odd place. Figured I'd visit it while I'm in town because, well, I'm literally in academia for my career. Oddly though, I felt like I was the one being treated as I didn't belong. From the moment my partner and I walked in, we were stared down by the (lone) bartender like we were out of place (in a mostly empty bar). Not sure why, but I can speculate. It was a bit of a weird vibe, but I ignored it and figured that maybe I was misreading things. Anyways, the drink menu seemed pretty solid so I figured that I would try a cocktail. The bartender (who seems to be pictured in a few of the photos here) was again, oddly terse, and seemed reluctant to make my drink. It did turn out pretty tasty, but we finished our drinks and left fairly quickly because of the weird vibes (and the bartender who seemed to be staring at us every so often). Anyways, shout out to this bar for appropriating my profession and also being kind of weird about it.

Best cocktail place in town. My husband and I always come here for a late night drink and the friendly staff is honestly one of the best things about this place. Really cute ambiance as well.
They changed the name and added amazing food to the menu. Makes a good date night if you don't know if you are hungry or not.
