I’ve been buying beans for my home espresso setup from this shop for the past three years. The coffee, especially the Dogspeed blend, has been consistently great.
That said, the customer service has really declined over the past couple of years. Every time I walk in, whoever’s working the counter seems completely uninterested. No greeting, no smile—just a flat “Is that all?” when I check out. No eye contact, no warmth. It’s honestly disheartening, especially when I see the person behind me get treated with friendliness and a smile. This has happened the last several visits.
It’s hard not to feel like I’m being treated differently on purpose. Whether it’s intentional or not, it doesn’t sit right with me - the team here needs some very basic service training. If I’m choosing to support your shop, the least I expect is a basic level of courtesy.
I’m taking my business elsewhere. There are plenty of amazing coffee shops in Austin where both the beans and the service are great. This place just isn’t worth it anymore. Try Ghoul or Desnudo instead!
Parking: Very small parking lot with 4 spots. Street parking gets very packed during the weekends.

Cappuccino and Horchata are good.
Some of the baristas are judgy, assumptive, and racist. If you're a trendy american/cute girl, you'll be fine here, but you will be judged for not only being quiet and minding your own business but also for talking with people if you are a POC or an "uncool" demographic.
Educate yourselves on diversity, especially at a time when measures for equality are being eroded, as well as racism towards Indians being at an all time high. It's been even worse than post 9/11....
Some of the baristas have learned. Long red-haired dude has always been a cool one.

I absolutely love this coffee shop it lifts my spirit. The staff are warm. They are amazing human beings very friendly very accommodating. I am a small business owner and I work in tech and when I have those frustrating days, I know I can come into.Flat Track, and get a warm welcome, the friendly faces and the smiles it is a reflection of the owner. I hope in the winter time that they stay open a little later I miss my night chai tea and as you chai lovers know we are very picky about our chai. This shop is one of the best in town delivering the best chai thank you so much for your customer service?

Flat Track Coffee had AMAZING coffee. It was very rich in flavor and not too sweet. The interior was nicely decorated, chill atmosphere, and I loved the theme. There’s plenty of seating available but during busy times it might get difficult. They have an outdoor patio in the front and back too, so you can try there as well. Overall, it’s a great stop for coffee whether you’re just picking up or enjoying it with friends. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
A spacious coffee/bike shop. Very relaxed feel. I got to watch the Sunrise from the windows. I ordered the LA Chingona and it was mouth wateringly good. I would love to come back here. They have a parking lot which holds 5 cars so it's probably a hit or miss on spots so come early!
