Kessho (W Live Oak) is a must-visit destination for chocolate lovers. The bakery and dessert shop offers a unique dessert spread, including salted plum chocolate, boba tea chocolate lamb skewer, milk tea gelato with boba topping, black sesame gelato, and black sesame cookies. The chocolates are award-winning, with flavors like yuzu, hojicha, and boba. The gelato is made with coconut milk, giving it a lighter and less sweet taste. The shop is open late and has street parking. The owners are known for their creativity and Asian-inspired desserts. The ube (purple sweet potato) flavor is also a standout.
Kessho is known for their chocolate. At their food truck location, they've taken the opportunity to offer additional dessert items, such as gelato and various baked goods. Despite their other offerings, their chocolate bars are where it's at. Their bars are done extremely well, with the intended flavors pleasantly lingering around before they gradually disappear. Customers can get them at the food truck, and also at various supermarkets around town. The shop also offers seating, with a tiny gravel lot on the property and street parking available close by.
The attention to detail and the passion they put into every aspect, from packaging to flavor, is truly inspiring. Their Asian-inspired flavors, such as lychee rose, pandan coconut, and ube, are not only delicious but also refreshing. Additionally, their scratch-made baked goods, like cookies, are incorporated into their flavors, like cookies and cream (most popular flavor). They've recently added "toppings" to their menu, allowing customers to enhance any flavor with their homemade cookies or pecans. Customers can even order ice cream sandwiches.
