I know everyone is putting how amazing the burgers were but even for an old-fashioned hamburger, and I've rated many, these were quite dry and flavorless. I had the bacon cheeseburger with everything on it. Kids did love the fries. Just being honest, because what else is a review for, right?. However, the service was very quick, especially given how busy it seemed to constantly be. They had great sweet tea and the butterscotch shake hit the spot on a hot day. As for the atmosphere?...
One of the few old Austin places still in existence. Looks the same as 25 years ago. Thursday and Saturday special hamburger, fries and drink for $7.49. food delivered hot and fresh, burgers are good sized. Don't skip getting a frozen custard. There is no inside to this place. It is drive through or walk up, but you can sit at a covered picnic table.
Sandy's is old school goodness. Hamburgers, fries, soft serve dipped cones, chili dogs.
It was so good that I forgot to take pictures. They are located right next to Whataburger, but Sandy's was holding their own with long drive thru line plenty of outdoor seating and parking.
