“My wife picked this for my birthday lunch. We were seated next to a huge window with a wonderful view. The waitress was very attentive and the food was absolutely amazing! Because of the nature of their farm to table menu they were able to offer simple solutions for dietary issues/preferences. We will definitely be going back!“

“Only in Austin for a long weekend and stopped by for dinner. Fixe did not disappoint! Beautiful cocktails with tons of flavor. Absolutely delicious meal, our group all got a different entree and shared, each a delight. I could live off of their biscuits with the butter, honey and jam combo. Definitely bring your appetite, we finished our meals with the to die for pecan pie.“

“We visited "STELLA SAN JAC" during our Austin trip... and we had a great time. We tried several of the best and most inspiring cocktails we've ever tasted. Manager Edwin put us at ease with the best comfortable service, and every cocktail he recommended we were very impressed with. I will definitely recommend my friends to visit this place, I want to go back and try the cocktail again on my next business trip.“

“I was born and raised in Louisiana and today I was REALLY missing home, especially the food. I found this spot and the reviews don’t do it justice, this is THE best soul food anywhere around. I was transported back to my childhood and it was emotional. I went from being a little sad and homesick to being on cloud nine. I didn’t know what to choose, so I got a sample platter with pork chop, fried fish and a chicken wing. And I got candied yams, grits, cornbread and sweet tea and it was EVERYTHING. I can’t wait to go back and I rarely take pictures of my food, but I had to take one to share.“

“We recently rediscovered Shoal Creek after several years. Since we’ve last visited, there must be a new chef/kitchen staff. Our last four visits (in 3 weeks!) have been great!
The boudin balls before were ok, but they were often dark and overdone.
This time around, the boudin balls have a light & crispy batter and have the perfect amount filling and spicy sauce. Delicious!
It’s been fun to come watch football on Sundays and take advantage of happy hour prices. We’ve had friendly service throughout, with exceptionally great service today from Stephanie!
We’ll continue our new Sunday tradition!“

“The food was delicious we had the brisket hash and the puff pastry . I tried the homemade Sangria and it did not disappoint. The customer service was excellent and our server was very attentive The handwritten birthday card signed by the staff and the dessert treat was a nice touch. It was my first visit but I definitely will return. The only problem was parking, not enough of it behind the restaurant but I loved everything else.“

“This place is an entire vibe. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming, stylish, and perfectly balanced. The food was exceptional—beautifully done and full of flavor. It’s the kind of spot that works for everything: a girls’ night out, a dinner date with your boo, catching up with the guys over drinks, or even an after-work unwind. The energy is well-rounded and intentional. Between the food, the service, and the overall experience, it’s easily a 10 out of 10. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation—I’ll be back.“

“Absolutely delightful experience! Great food with prices that are a good twenty percent below the competition. They were out of Chicken Pot Pie which both my girlfriend and I had wanted. They were very gracious about it, comping a few items for us.“

“way too expensive. Atmosphere is Nice. ribs are soft and pull off bone with perfect bark, however too sweet for my personal taste. I like savory spicy. brisket was good but should have gotten marble like last time. last time flavor was better and meat was hot and fresher. sausage was a no for me personally it tasted grainy and was barely warm. Mac and cheese is good and husband said potato salad was a 3 or 4. best barbecue is Southside Market-Flavor, Henry's in Austin by the airport.“
