I don't understand why more people aren't dining at Southside BBQ in the Arbor Walk. The lean brisket was very nice (smokey, not too heavily seasoned and LEAN). the classic Southside sausage is always great with the crackin' casing and nicely seasoned beef sausage. The place was empty on a Saturday afternoon? I guess it's not a great location as Rudy's down the road is always packed, yet their food isn't half as good as what they're serving at Southside. Next time you have a north Austin BBQ craving check out Southside in the Arbor Walk - you'll be glad you did

This is a BBQ restaurant from Elgin. They make the best sausage in Texas, and they serve it to you with a smile. If you are looking for a pleasant casual Texan dining experience in Austin with true history, it is hard to beat.

Driest, most over cooked baby back ribs I've ever eaten ... I arrived about 75 minutes before closing, so that may be the reason, but they should just stop serving if the meat has sat around too long

We have gone many times here. Excited to try it again and spent +$100 on brisket, pork steak and sides. Went in to order at about 7:30pm, the young man behind the counter was just about as dry as the meat.
We were so disappointed with how dry the meat was :( it was never like that for us in the past. Not planning to return.

I've been going to southside market as a kid d and I still go the sausage and the ribs and the brisket plus you can buy fresh meat.... although it is a little pricey but it is worth it

“Authentic Central BBQ” AKA Real Mid BBQ
Looks good!!! but really bland, dry, and honestly, it taste like it was made in the oven. Even the BBQ had no tang, best thing on our plate was the coleslaw and Ms.Vickie’s chips. Very disappointed, I shoulda went to Salata next door :(

Great brisket. No insane lines. Easy to park. No waiter. Not prematurely selling out. Probably my favorite outside of Terry Blacks so far.

I was at the Southside Market & Barbecue off of N. Mopac and received exceptional service from Haley, Tyler, and JoJo! The chopped brisket was the best I’ve ever had! Traveling to Texas for work and finally experienced the Texas style BBQ! I will definitely go back when in town!

Love this place! I’ve been to the original Elgin location and this location is still the same quality. Moist meats, amazing taste and honestly even at its busiest the wait has never been that long. Everyone is super polite and knowledgeable of the cuts of meat. I’ve never had a bad experience. I don’t need to wait in line for hours outside of Franklins for great barbecue. Price is right too.

One of the best smoked meat I've ever eaten. I almost cried when eating. LITERALLY. I love this place and recommend it 100%. The staff is very friendly and cool. Everything is clean and organized. The atmosphere is great for families, couples, friends... You can also see the process of how they slowly smoke the meat through a window. I will definitely come back.

The woman at the bbq checkout counter (around 2 pm on June 27th with long braids) was so nice! She was very helpful and personable. I will be coming back when I'm in the area again.
