I don't understand why more people aren't dining at Southside BBQ in the Arbor Walk. The lean brisket was very nice (smokey, not too heavily seasoned and LEAN). the classic Southside sausage is always great with the crackin' casing and nicely seasoned beef sausage. The place was empty on a Saturday afternoon? I guess it's not a great location as Rudy's down the road is always packed, yet their food isn't half as good as what they're serving at...
This is a BBQ restaurant from Elgin. They make the best sausage in Texas, and they serve it to you with a smile. If you are looking for a pleasant casual Texan dining experience in Austin with true history, it is hard to beat.
I've been going to southside market as a kid d and I still go the sausage and the ribs and the brisket plus you can buy fresh meat.... although it is a little pricey but it is worth it
