Those quesabirria tacos were gooood!! The watermelon agua was very tasty.
Holy smokes, this little place was SO GOOD. 😂 We stopped at Kona’s Comida de Casa while passing through Big Lake and I’m so glad we did!
Everything was made fresh. The rolled tacos were absolutely delicious, the gorditas were PERFECT, the chips were fresh, and the green salsa was easily our favorite. And when they say spicy, they mean it — the jalapeños had some serious heat! My husband’s head was literally sweating from the bacon-wrapped jalapeño. 😂🌶️

Absolutely the best place to eat authentic Mexican food in Big Lake. You can't beat the flavors of this delicious food. The service is 5 star. The ladies here make you feel like you are in their own kitchen at home. Service with a friendly smile. The music in the background makes you want to get up and dance while you wait for your order. They are adding on to make more room for dine-in. Don't miss out!

Kona’s Comida de Casa | Mexican is a tiny little women-owned shack in Big Lake. The ladies working are sweet and friendly, and the service is 5 star. Some of them did not speak much English, but ordering was no trouble. The food is made fresh. The rolled tacos are delicious, the gorditas are perfect, the chips are fresh, and the green salsa is a favorite. The jalapeños have serious heat. The quesabirria tacos are great. It is cafeteria style, where you choose your tacos, plate, etc. The food is tasty, with good portions. It is a little on the pricy side. The music in the background makes you want to get up and dance while you wait for your order. They prefer cash, but they also have tap-to-pay and Cash App. There is outdoor seating, and they are expanding and adding bathrooms. They are adding on to make more room for dine-in and building a patio for outdoor seating. It is the best place to eat in Big Lake.
