La Playita Restaurant Reviews
3 different meals ordered- NONE were good. Not sure if the Chicken fried steak was actually hamburger meat or bologna. Hamburger meat in the hamburger tasted rancid. Shrimp had no taste. Can’t bear the thought of eating there again. After the mandatory 20% gratuity add on, bill was 50.00! Never again!
We eat here most trips to Bolivar. I love seafood but my wife doesn’t, so we both have good choices here. Never had a bad experience here either. Nice folks every time.
We came here for breakfast, and it ended up being one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had on the Bolivar Peninsula.
We had a small group, including a 3-month-old baby in a portable seat, and somehow they used that as an excuse to charge us a forced 20% tip, claiming the baby counted as an extra person. Completely dishonest.
To make it worse, they charged us for drinks we never ordered or received. When we brought it up, they brushed it off and refused to fix...read full review

La Playita Restaurant is a popular spot that serves wonderful food and offers great service. Located just a mile from many homes, it is a convenient option for a delicious meal. The menu features a range of options, including chalupas, fajitas, and fresh, cooked-to-order dishes. Highlights include fantastic shrimp and all-you-can-eat oysters. The atmosphere is very nice, and the restaurant sets off the main road, making it easy to find with Google. Customers have praised the fajitas for being very tender and juicy, and the chicken quesadillas are also highly recommended. The restaurant is smallish and can get busy, but it remains comfortable and not too noisy or crowded. The service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly and eager to help, creating a laid-back vibe that makes it a well-known local hangout. Many visitors enjoy breakfast options like huevos ranchos and huevos over easy with ranchero sauce. The Shrimp Ranchero is another favorite, with a delicious sauce that goes perfectly with the shrimp and rice. The restaurant’s traditional red sauce over tamales, instead of queso, is a unique and tasty feature. Customers have expressed that the beef enchiladas are some of the best they’ve ever had, and the crawfish is better than in nearby Crystal Beach. Overall, La Playita Restaurant provides a satisfying dining experience with reasonable prices and a friendly atmosphere.
