the best tacos al pastor. in brownsville, tx. so far
Be prepared to speak Spanish, I don't and I may have missed out on some goodness. All waitress were great and made me feel like home. Small place but has to some of the best tacos in Brownsville. Will not go back to Brownsville without stopping here!

Based on the reviews, Taquería La Vaquita is a small, quaint eatery and a hidden gem in Brownsville. It offers authentic Mexican dishes packed with great flavor at reasonable pricing and amazing food portions. The tacos are the real deal, very original straight from the real trompo, and are some of the best tacos in Brownsville. Specifically, the pastor tacos right out of the fire are close to the Matamoros type tacos, and the meat is shaved off the rotating stack of seasoned pork. They also serve the best gorditas in all the RGV with filling of your choice. A definite must try is the flour tortilla, but know that you barely can handle one. All waitresses were great and made customers feel like home, though one moody waiter looked burned out. Prices are reasonable and service is ok. It is a definite family favorite.
