Pioneer Tap House Reviews
Hands down best food I’ve ate in a long time. Pesto chicken was the absolute best. Total great vibes inside. Good food. Good atmosphere. Good music. One of the best places I’ve been to in forever.
Micah, his family, and his crew were the beginning of downtown Brownwood’s momentum. How this place has grown over the last six years! Always a great selection of beer and wine with an ever growing delicious menu, I’d highly recommend Pioneer Tap House as a place to stop when you’re wanting a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Help support awesome people and a growing downtown and enjoy yourself while doing it!
We stopped in for lunch on a road trip and were not disappointed! it can be hard to find edible cauliflower crust pizza if you're a gluten free traveler and this was delicious! Even the gluten loving husband thought so. Staff (esp. Coby) was kind, attentive and friendly. We will make it a point to stop in again.

Pioneer Tap House is a charming, kid-friendly restaurant in Brownwood, Texas, known for their amazing pizza, especially the Pioneer and Backwoods Squatch varieties. With a great selection of craft beers and incredible food, guests love the Squatch knots and flavorful corn dip that tastes like elote. The small-town hospitality shines through with attentive service, like running to get more ice cream for root beer floats. The inviting atmosphere and friendly staff create a clean environment that enhances the dining experience. Enjoy the herby house sauce, beer-battered fries, and karaoke on Thursday nights at this great little joint near Intermission bookstore. Pioneer Tap House has become a must-stop location for locals and visitors alike, offering a tasty treat that captures the local flavor and charm.
