Micah, his family, and his crew were the beginning of downtown Brownwood’s momentum. How this place has grown over the last six years! Always a great selection of beer and wine with an ever growing delicious menu, I’d highly recommend Pioneer Tap House as a place to stop when you’re wanting a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Help support awesome people and a growing downtown and enjoy yourself while doing it!

We have eaten here numerous times. But tonight was the first time I had a bad experience. Usually the pizza and service are awesome. Not so tonight. Our pizza was cold and the woman working the bar ignored me while she talked to other customers and then walked away to help someone else even though I had stood there waiting patiently for her to finish her conversation. She knew I was there she just didn't seem to care. They took away the flatbed pizza so my husband wasn't sure he want to go tonight. Not sure we will go back. At least the guys that work there are nice and know what customer service means.

Beer selection is outstanding. The service is great and the atmosphere is lively but I am disappointed by the pizza. The description says double pepperoni, mushroom, jalapenos, etc but it was lacking in toppings. It should have been hand tossed but it was super thin. First time her
e and maybe this is the norm but it didn't scratch the itch. I expected more for a medium $21 pizza, Maybe next time will be better.

We stopped in for lunch on a road trip and were not disappointed! it can be hard to find edible cauliflower crust pizza if you're a gluten free traveler and this was delicious! Even the gluten loving husband thought so. Staff (esp. Coby) was kind, attentive and friendly. We will make it a point to stop in again.

My family never has a bad time at Pioneer. They have a great selection of tasty beer and some of the best pizza you will eat.

Our server/bartender KELSEY WAS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!! So sweet. So helpful. (She’s like that cousin that you can always rely on and talk to, you know?) Lol. :-)
We drove all the way from San Antonio and met our friends who drove from Dallas/Fort Worth just to visit this place. ‘The Cadillac Thieves’ were on stage playing original music and familiar stuff…sounded awesome. These guys are gifted. The show was so good it felt like we should’ve paid admission! Sadly, they had no merchandise with them for sale this time. Food was amazing. Great selection of beer. This place is a must when you’re in town, or even when you’re not…it’s worth the drive! Ask for Kelsey when you’re here. You won’t be sorry. Tell her Abby and Jermaine sent you.

We love the Squatch knots! Their pizza is amazing. We generally get the Pioneer, but I love the Backwoods Squatch. The corn dip tastes like elote, and I can't get enough. It is kid friendly. Karaoke is every Thursday night.

My college daughter and I stopped in to have drinks and appetizers on our day trip to visit the Intermission bookstore down the street. The food was delicious. We also ordered root beer floats. They had run out of ice cream but that did not deter them. Instead of saying “sorry we’re out”, they actually ran to the store to buy more just to serve us what we wanted! Small town hospitality at its finest!! Charming place that we will certainly revisit!

Great food, best beer selection in town, and now it's one of the best places to see live music. Nothing else in town compares.
