“Me, my wife and her family were looking for a place to have breakfast today. It being Christmas Day, I know that the pickin's we're going to be slim. We went to 1 place and got completely ignored. So we said let's try Waffle House on Renfro. There was a place for all seven of us to sit and they weren't completely slammed, but yet they were still busy. I'll tell you, I've been coming to this location for at least 15 years and i've never had a bad meal here, ever. Today was no exception. The way that the staff worked with each other in tandem with the servers was something to watch. Surprisingly, our waitress and the other ones that were there, kept cool under pressure and handled us with grace and attentiveness. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood and was in amazing spirits since it was Christmas. So big thanks to the entire staff that handled the 7 of us and as well as everyone else that was there today!“

“It's extremely rare that I give a place 5 stars. In fact, I think this is my first time to do so, and it's all due to our server. The very first thing my wife said after Chelsea greeted us was, "Now, that's a good server." It's a very special occasion when my wife makes such a statement, so I had to let Chelsea know. Needless to say, she was extremely appreciative.
Now, I have to tell you about the food. I ordered the Big Ol' Breakfast Burrito and a side of biscuits and gravy. Why? I haven't the faintest clue. Their portions are huge. The burrito almost reached side to side on the oval plate it was served on. The two big, steamy biscuits were served with a big bowl of gravy and not that teeny weeny bowl that most places use.
And for those who enjoy eating outside in the coolness of the early morning, they have an amazing outdoor area.
The bottom line is that I highly recommend Ol' South Pancake House. You won't be disappointed!

This place looks a little dated on the outside and to a lesser degree on the inside to my taste.

Where it really excels is in the food and the service (which is what it is all about).

I ordered an omelette and biscuit and gravy. I had my order in less than 5 minutes!

The food was hot and freshly cooked. It also was delicious as the other reviews mentioned.

“I needed to place an order for catering. I was crossed between Cracker Barrel and IHOP. I decided to go with IHOP on Alta Mesa. Susan was the manager that I dealt with. She made our experience awesome. The food was On time and was hot. She paid attention to every detail. She made sure that we had more than enough utensils gave us extra ketchup extra jam.
